Read moreDRINKS: I am now a FIRM believer in matcha drinks thanks to the Hoji Tea Community. I had ordered one of their popular drinks, Uji Matcha Sweet Cream ('ideal' sweetness) and it literally tasted like matcha heaven without it being overly sweet. The balance between the creaminess and the matcha was so perfectly blended that it almost melts in your mouth, leaving me wanting more! We also ordered the Jade Mountain Green Milk Tea with lychee jelly and it did not disappoint. You can truly taste the quality and craft that were put into each of these drinks. I'm from up north and was only visiting family in LA, but I'm already anticipating on going back to try the entire Matcha collection!
AMBIANCE: The decor is unlike any boba shop of its kind. Its neutral and minimalistic decor makes for the most aesthetically pleasing experience for enjoying drinks. I loved Hoji Tea's simplicity in offering customers a calm and cozy nook to catch up with friends without the usual distractions or loud music that tend to come with boba shops.
SERVICE: The girl was so kind and patient in answering all of our matcha/boba-related questions!
*Also, another bonus of this place is that it's literally within the same vicinity as Afters Ice Cream. Can't go wrong with a day of matcha drinks and...
Read moreBeen here at least 5 times within these 2 weeks. All the staffs were super nice and friendly for all my visits. My order was always their Thai Tea with boba, Mango Cloud, and sometimes Black milk tea with boba.
Really like their mango cloud because of the fresh fruit chunks that comes with it, it adds a layer of taste to the drink and is def a plus in my opinion.
I've noticed that during my recent visits, their drinks were not made to the same level as my first few visits last week. The mango cloud was super watery and whiter in color compared to the light yellow that they used to have..It didnt have any mango taste and the whole drink was basically white without any mango taste.. and the boba in my thai tea contained quite a bit of boba that was clearly harder than the others.. I thought it might be a coincidence but I tried it again today and same thing for the boba. So I am guessing their boba on more on the chewy - harder side than.
Anyways, really enjoy their cozy atmosphere and friendly service that they offer. Haven't got a chance to try their Matcha but would def be back again to try out the other items on the menu.
