This is a go-to spot for a lot of my coworkers, and I recently decided to go with them to see what it was all about
I assumed this would just be a fast food style place but with chicken salad, and that concept was intriguing. But when I arrived I was pleasantly surprised how it's actually much more elevated that fast food
The interior is nicely decorated, and has a southern watery vibe. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food came out quick. A manager walked around asking how our dining experience was and even bused our plates
For those that haven't been to a CSC, they specialize in chicken salad. There are several different chicken salads to choose from. There's classic, fruitier, more savory, spicier, and seasonal options. There's also sides you can choose from. If you're on the go you can quickly purchase a pre-made meal from a refrigerated section near checkout
Some tips: Instead of a side you can get an extra scoop of chicken salad. If you're trying to avoid carbs you can just get the scoops with crackers. Also, if you're trying to join their rewards program you can get points for your order, and on your birthday you get a free meal
Everything tasted great, and Im not even the biggest chicken salad fan. I really like the little iced cookie you get with your...
Read moreFirst, I love chicken salad. So, when I saw a place named for it, I may have had higher expectations. This was my initial visit, and it wasn’t great. It was ok, but clearly not what I had anticipated. I got the Carols Original Recipe or something because it claimed to be the one that started the whole chain. I had it on white bread, but will definitely try croissant if I go again. It was mediocre for chicken salad, tasted fine, but I have had better from the local grocery store. It seemed just blah. Not bad, but bland. The pasta salad on the side, was equally bland and this strange, chewy consistency. I couldn’t tell if it was supposed to be that dry or if it had just been sitting there for awhile. It didn’t taste bad or anything, just not good, and especially not great. The service was fine and the young person offered me samples of anything I’d like to try and next time I will do just that. The atmosphere in the place was like visiting your grandma’s house. Gospel music and Knick knacks everywhere. It didn’t help but it didn’t hurt either. I will definitely try again, even this location probably, because I am afraid I had just expected next level or the “home of the greatest chicken salad” and most assuredly, did...
Read moreHusband and I stopped in yesterday, Feb, 11, at 4:45 PM for a healthy meal. We love the food and eat at the Pasadena, TX location about once a week. A couple ordering at the counter, to dine in, had a stinky dog on a lease with a fake looking "service dog" label. The couple was very poorly kept in appearance and so was the dog. The woman was counting out pennies on the counter to pay for their order, which took a while. Meanwhile the dog was restless and pulling on the leash, not true service dog behavior. The couple was not asked about their dog credentials by the staff. After leaving the restaurant in disgust, my husband called the restaurant and complained about the stinky dog allowed to stay in the dining room. Staff stated there was nothing they could do to prevent the dog from staying. Dogs should not be allowed in the dining room, your restaurant has a drive thru. It will be a long time, if ever we visit Chicken salad chick again due to this "policy". It is not enjoyable to dine while a smelly dog is allowed to enter and stay in the restaurant, certainly not fair to those who do not bring a pet to the dining room. We love the food, service is great, but do not like...
