How many people does it take to make a chicken sandwich?
I canât answer that question for you because I never got my sandwich! But I will tell you that at Popeyes on Crenshaw it takes more than 10!
I went through the drive thru tonight and ordered 2 chicken sandwiches. They told me there would be a 10 minute wait and I agreed. I texted home at 8:21 pm to let them know I would be delayed. My son opted to eat leftovers at home, but my daughter wanted the sandwich.
I pulled up to the window and canceled one of the sandwiches and paid for the other one. They told me to pull up to the front of the parking lot with the other cars waiting by the sign. I exhausted everything I could think of on my phone, and I noticed that several of the other cars drove off, but nobody brought them food. I thought to myself âthis sure is a long ten minutes!â Then I remembered that I had a text that was time stamped. It was 8:49, so it had been 28 minutes!
I gathered my belongings and went inside and told them that I had been waiting 28 minutes for a sandwich that was supposed to take 10. She got a manager. The manager casually apologized, and I told her that I wanted my sandwich or my money back right now. She didnât even try to get me a sandwich, so I gave her my card and told her to give me a refund. While I was waiting for the refund, I looked in the kitchen and noticed that there were quite a few employees. 10 to be exact! Most of them were standing around, and very few looked remotely productive! It felt like it took forever to get my refund, and I was trapped because she had my credit card!
I would love to be able to say âIâm never coming back!â But, for some strange reason, my daughter loves the spicy chicken sandwich like nobodyâs business. We go there about 2-5 times/week. Iâm not kidding! I know that I tâs $4.32 for a spicy chicken sandwich. I go so much that I know that as soon as I say âI want a spicy chicken sandwichâ, they are going to ask if I want just the sandwich or the meal. We can order ketchup at the speaker but itâs not going to get in the bag unless I mention it at the window. If I ask for a cup of water, itâs 50/50 if a cup of water will make it to my car. And the credit card machine at the window is super slow! They take it first thing, and itâs the last thing I get before I drive off! Iâve almost left it several times.
So Iâm being realistic. Iâll be back. But the next time they say itâs going to be 10 minutes and ask me to pull up to the front of the parking lot where I can be forgotten, Iâm going to politely refuse and turn off my car. They can work the drive thru around my vehicle.
If they donât have chicken, then say that you are out. If they have cooking problems, send someone to let us know, preferably with a little snack as a peace offering. If something goes wrong, grab some of that chicken sitting there, and throw it in a box. Or give out some coupons for a future visit. But donât just stand there and let people sit in their car all night.
It was certainly NOT my pleasure doing business with Popeyes tonight! Honestly, I could have left the drive-thru when he said 10 minutes, gone to Chick-fil-A, got my chicken sandwiches and made it home before 8:49! Popeyes, your food may be appealing to some, but you seriously need to step...
   Read moreI went into the Popeye's on Crenshaw and ordered a 5pc tenders meal and I told the cashier I wanted to add 4 buttermilk shrimp to my order and he repeated back "4 buttermilk?" and I confirmed it. When he called my name to get my order, he didn't give me the shrimp I asked for and he didn't even charge me for it. He gave me 2 buttermilk ranch dipping sauces which was not what I asked for at all. I told him I wanted the shrimp and he said I never asked for that and I responded that yes I did ask for that and he even repeated the order back to me. He said no he didnt and I said yes I did and that it wasn't my fault that he misunderstood the order seeing as he repeated it back to me in the first place. He argued with me when I said it wasn't my fault he misunderstood and he came back with the remark that it was my fault not his. And then he asked me if I wanted the shrimp and I said yes seeing as I ordered it to begin with. He gave me attitude and charged me for the shrimp. I told him I shouldn't have to pay for those now since he messed up the first time and gave me an attitude about it. He continued to argue with me so I told him I wanted to speak with his manager and he said I don't care go ahead. And then didn't want to get his manager still talking mess to me. I told him he should not be in customer service if that is how he is going to treat his customers and he said "whatever". The manager finally came and while I was talking to the manager he chimes in with I just didn't want to pay for my food, which is not true. I did pay for I but after his attitude I asked for a refund because he screwed up in first place and disrespected me as a customer. If he hadn't argued with me I probably wouldn't had asked for the refund on the shrimp. But I was getting compensated one way or another for the display of disrespect that cashier gave me. The cashier's name is Felipe and he is extremely rude. The management was very nice and gave me the refund, which I greatly appreciated. She refused to give it to me so when I go outside, I see Quincy name and number on the door and she proceeds to tell me oh heâs no longer with the company and then says I didnât know his name and number was on there. Wow this is how Popeyes Leicester franchisees corporate run this store on Crenshaw in Pasadena I am appalled so yeah I started to record. Then I had a minor telling me. Oh, itâs illegal to record a minor this and that and whatever and theyâre telling me that I canât order food and theyâre telling me they wonât give me nobodyâs name contact information they donât have a corporate they donât have a franchisee number.
