Plenty of fun decorations hanging around the inside. There is the classic assortment of Vietnamese decorations, but for fun, they also have a grass wall with flowers on it. Great spot to take a couple photos. Very clean inside. Tables were clean and not sticky (!!) TV in the corner of the room was fun to look at at times too. Service was very fast and everyone was friendly. Seeing the kitchen and hearing chatter in the background made me feel like I was eating at my grandma’s house. Atmosphere: 9/10
Food was great. I got the grilled pork banh mi and my husband got the grilled pork rice platter. We also shared a beef pho. My husband really appreciated that the rice platter came with an egg roll. This is the first place that we’ve been to that gives an egg roll on the side of your rice platter. The Vietnamese fish sauce was delicious when paired with the egg roll. The egg roll itself is also the most similar I’ve had to my grandma’s egg roll so that’s amazing. Grilled rice platter: 7.5/10
The pho was delicious. As soon as the bowl was on the table the Vietnamese aromatics filled the air and I knew I was in for a great time. Of course, you have to add a bit of sriracha with it. I couldn’t even get a photo of it because we dug right in. This dish is definitely a must have. Beef pho: 9.5/10
I got the Grilled pork banh mi. All of the ingredients were exactly what I was craving. The crispy and light French bread, the savory pate, and the spicyness of the jalapeño really brought it all together. I think we may have had a bad batch of grilled pork. We went about an hour prior to closing time. It could have used more char to give it that iconic Vietnamese grilled pork flavor. We will definitely come back here and try again. Grilled pork banh mi: 8/10
Notes: I really appreciate this is a Vietnamese-owned local business. One of the servers told us that a lot of local people become regulars and I can definitely see why. The server also said Kathy is there every day making food for people.
Bonus points: Food was extremely affordable. We ate for $37 and we got more food than we usually would. They have a reward system(!) For every $100 you spend you get $5 off…there’s not too much to complain about there.
This place is definitely a must try if you haven’t tried it already. We will definitely be coming back. Overall...
Read moreI wasn't sure what to expect from a Pasadena location, but I was pleasantly surprised. Typically you find the best in Asiatown, but this wasn't too far off.
I ordered a bowl of pho for lunch, and a grilled pork bahn mi, and they hit all the right notes. The broth was flavorful and hearty, and it had a good amount of noodles. Could have used a bit more meat, but it wasn't bad for the price. The sandwich had all the right toppings, and the grilled pork was savory and sweet, with a bit of char. The bread was fluffy and crispy on the outside. I've had crispier, but I suppose this is a matter of preference. My kids ordered pho, grilled pork with rice, milk tea and a smoothie, and they enjoyed all of it.
This is a little hole in the wall place, it used to be an old Taco Bell, and seating is limited, but service was quite friendly and thorough. It seems like they get a good amount of business through takeout, but we had no issues dining in. There were about 3 or 4 other parties dining at the same time, and that seemed almost max capacity.
This place is a little local gem. It really hits the spot if you don't want to drive out to Houston, prices are fair, and service is friendly. My kids and I enjoyed it, and we definitely plan to return.
Oh, almost forgot a bonus: they keep the chili oil on the table. You don't even have...
Read moreI'm so excited a new Vietnamese opened up in the area. I ate here for lunch with my dad today and am excited to return.
Plenty of parking outside right off of Strawberry and their sign is hard to miss! The interior is modernized with white and grey tones with tasteful, Asian inspired decoration.
I loved the set-up where they had quick to-go combo options if you need to be in and out which is kore Chinese style food but if you're dining in they offer pho as well. They serve a variety of boba teas with lactose free options. They have egg rolls as well as bahn mis.
My dad and I shared a combo with half fried rice and half lo mein. We suggested they and more flavor to the lo mein and the server said she would relay the info to the chef. other than that the pork and fried chicken wings were so delicious and I enjoyed the taro smoothie we ordered with coconut jelly. For $17 we were happy.
They made a small mistake with our drink order and made us another free small drink as a sorry. Now that is good customer service.
I will be back again to try the other foods on the menu!
I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick, yummy, and convenient lunch meal. The owners and employees are super friendly as well and will...
