IHOP — Restaurant in Pasadena

I will not visit this location again! I'm not sure if they're racist or just lazy. I called in a Togo order for an omelet and got hung up on, so I had to call back. Then, I got there to pick up my order and was ignored for about 3-5 min, told to wait by Camilla, a Hispanic server, while she processed payment from her still seated table, never once did she ask what I needed help with or offer to seat me. Then after about 7 min of waiting, a young Hispanic couple come in behind me, Camilla walked back by the front where we were all standing, went into the kitchen and then to the back side is the restaurant and told another server, also Hispanic something and he came and seated the couple that came in after me, never once did he ask if I needed help or to be seated. Camilla then passed by the front counter again and told me she would get her manager to help me out because I had a Togo order. She went to the back, and an older Hispanic lady came out with her, looked in my direction, said something to her, and then handed her a card to come take my payment. The restaurant was far from busy, and I forgot to mention, 2 other Hispanic young male servers walked up to the front counter area where I had been standing waiting and never once acknowledged me! I'm not sure if my brown skin (I'm a Black woman) prompted this type of treatment or if this is how this restaurant is run regularly, but it's unacceptable and needs to be corrected immediately. This transaction took more than 15 min to complete, and all the while, my food was sitting on the back counter getting cold. At first I gave it first three stars but I had to change my mind today after the service here. It was absolutely terrible! I ordered a pickup order of three things. A breakfast platter, strawberry crepe, and chocolate waffles. When I got there I waited 10 minutes in the front waiting for somebody. When someone finally came they wasn't in a welcoming manner. I told him I'm here for a pickup and he went to the back and grabbed the stuff. When I got home I found one syrup package,one butter, and one fork. When I went to get my chocolate pancakes I noticed I didnt get any chocolate mouse or syrup to go with it like it has in the past. Instead I just got bland chocolate pancakes. So I go back. Still most of the staff looked like they was half asleep. So I ask if I can get some chocolate mouse or something to go with my bland pancakes. The girl comes out with two cups of chocolate chips. When I mean cups I mean about seven or twelve chocolate chips in each cup. So I ask what am I supposed to do with this and she tells me to put it on the pancakes. Mind you the pancakes already contain chocolate chips. If the chocolate chips inside doesn't help what makes her think a few more is going to help. She finally comes back with some chocolate syrup and at this point I'm so hungry I dont even care so I just accept and go on my way. For a company that doesn't want people smelling like cannabis in their restaurant you should really look into your employees cause I swear all of them must've been popping pills for them to work so slow. If you are looking for a late night place to eat after an event or just 2 AM munchies, this is NOT the IHOP to go to. A month ago, I called to place a To-Go order, and the waitress was rude, and hung up in my face before I could place the order. I called back, the manager was very apologetic, took my order & told me it would be ready in 30 minutes. I get there 35 minutes later and a waitress tells me that they don't start To-Go orders until AFTER you arrive. I ask to speak to the manager who, again apologetically, retakes my order to confirm, asks me of I would like a free drink for the trouble & tells me that the order is ready, they are just bagging it up.

While I was waiting 3 groups of 3-4 people came in and waited at least 10 minutes just for someone to seat them. One group just sat themselves. 45 minutes later I finally get the order (yes the same order that she claimed was already made). I ordered the strawberry covered French toast, but what they gave me was 4 pieces of lightly toasted bread with strawberries. I also ordered 3 of the 2x2x2 meals and only got two. I ordered Turkey sausage and got Turkey bacon. I ordered cheese on one of the eggs & got cheese on all three.

A late night take out that should have only taken 45 minutes correctly (30 to cook & 15 to receive) took 1 hour & 35 minutes to get everything wrong. It gets one star because the bathroom and the dining area floors were clean.

So if you're starving, and this is the only place open, go home and pray that sleep will dull your hunger, because this IHOP will not...
