This place was insane. Easily one of the best sushi experiences I’ve had in a long time.
Sashimi Platter – Absolute Perfection
The sashimi was next-level fresh—buttery toro with gold flakes, perfectly marbled salmon, rich tuna, and even uni with caviar. Every piece melted in my mouth. Plus, the presentation was gorgeous, served on a bed of ice with fresh shiso leaves, flowers, and just the right amount of garnish. This wasn’t just food; it was an experience.
The Rolls – Flavor Bombs
The specialty roll was unreal. Eel, crab, and avocado wrapped in rice, topped with more eel, sesame, and a drizzle of eel sauce—sweet, savory, and just the right texture. They even sprinkled it with gold flakes, which honestly just made me feel fancy.
The Little Details
Even the small things stood out—the edamame was fresh, the ginger was crisp and not overly sweet, and the whole vibe of the place felt upscale but not pretentious.
Final Thoughts – Worth Every Penny
If you love sushi and want something beyond the usual, this spot is a must. The quality, the presentation, the flavors—everything was spot on. 10/10, would come back in...
Read moreI am quite grateful that my friend who lives in Pasadena suggested Kyushu Sushi for dinner! She noted that the fish was freshly cut and buttery; she was entirely accurate. I just moved back to the address area after living out of state and was craving some smooth salmon sashimi. Salmon and cream cheese are also a comfort food so I truly was thrilled when both the Pink Lady and Philly Roll were exactly what I had hoped. Both included buttery and well prepared cuts of salmon and salmon truffle. The rice was exactly the perfect sticky sushi grade and the flavors were appealing and not overwhelming. I will note the salmon is the Pink Lady was rich which can be expected from the truffle oil. Our waiter was highly knowledgeable and had suggested I order the Pink Lady versus the Salmon Sashimi. He did not disappoint. My friend ordered and has committed to ordering the Chirashi which was a solid staple as well. I was beyond full and was pleasantly surprised with how well the sushi held over night in the refrigerator on a bed of ice. We will definitely be frequenting...
