I came in with my boyfriend (who speaks Spanish since I can not) 2/19/22 to order a cake. told the lady I wanted a cake like #8 for serve 20 ppl. She asked if I wanted fruits on it- ok plain strawberries (the cake is already chocolate and I didn’t want more chocolate) She asked if I wanted a floral design on the side- yes some flowers would be nice (because that’s what the #8 had???) And I also wanted happy bday on it too.

Uhhhh so today 2/20/22 I get a completely different cake than I asked for. Which wasn’t the issue, the cake was still cute but again this is not what I was wanting for my daughters bday?

The man who brought the cake to us brought the main lady who does the cakes to come talk about what went wrong. She tried saying the issue was that I said I wanted something from the displays - which is 100% untrue and a blatant LIE- and that there was miscommunication because I don’t speak Spanish. I don’t care that I don’t speak Spanish but my boyfriend, whom you spoke to yesterday when HE did all the ordering, does.

Main point: if she hadn’t try to lie about this there would be no review posted. Grow up, own your mistakes and take responsibility.

I love this place. They have great pan dulce, and amazing tres leches cake that you can buy just a slice of. The reason I am putting a low rating is two things: I order cakes from here all the time. This time was different. So I ordered two specialized cakes for my graduation. Both of them were tres leches. But when it was time to eat them, they had no moistness to it. It was as if I had just ordered a normal cake. I called to complain, they said they would call me back and they did nothing about it. And keep in mind these are $50 cakes... Every time I take a cake, everyone loves it. I recommend them this place. A friend called to get a cake for his wife (he doesn’t speak Spanish) and when they answered, they hung up on him. He called again and no answer. He called the next day by saying “hola” and then started talking. Once he spoke in English, they hung up on him. He told me about it and I called the place telling them the situation. They don’t have anyone who speaks English. WHICH IS A PROBLEM. They lost a client forever because of this. I got tamales there three years ago and they were great! But last Wednesday, I bought 4 dozen all pork and I had to use a knife and fork to cut into them. They had large pieces of pork without seasoning. I was willing to let that go but we found dark black hair in them! I bought some for two of my friends, and one reported to me that their tamales had hair in them as well. My other friend was too polite to complain and I'm sure she did not want to embarrass me. But it was very embarrassing!! I called them every day but they would not answer the phone. It was a fast busy as if they had the phone off the hook. Today was the first day they answered, and they were not willing to reimburse since I didnt bring them back the next day.
