I have to have a few more meals from this place to give this place a proper review but so far so good. My first time coming here, I ordered a beef patty and it was really good so I certified it a solid spot for beef patties (yay). Their patties are flavorful (as they should be) and the crust has just the right amount of flakiness to it. I've since had the ackee & sailfish. The portion was a good size and the taste was pretty good, it just needed to a tad more salt. I also went back for a customer appreciation event they were having where they were giving out free jerk chicken and chicken soup. The flavor of the chicken was good and the sauce was superb but the chicken could have been cooked a little more. It may been because so many people were waiting for jerk chicken and they were driving serve them as quickly as possible. I would have to go back order the jerk chicken another time to really give it fair review. Aside from the food, the space in the restaurant is decent enough to stay eat in. Most Jamaican restaurants in Paterson are spots you go to strictly for takeout.

I was initially reluctant to try this place but my friend kept bragging about how good the food was so I finally caved and agreed to go try it. And my good friend was right the food and the staff were on point. The vibe felt like you eating at your favorite home kitchen. We did pick up but we ate half the order inside the restaurant because we ordered the steamed fish and it takes approximately 30 minutes or more to prepare and cook. We basically ordered one of everything on the menu. Give this a try and you’ll be happy that you did. $$

Decided to venture into Paterson today because I needed to buy a few things at Lowes lol. Since moving to NJ from Brooklyn I've yet to find an authentic Caribbean eatery that feels like home... Until now! Everything was spot on. Jercked Chicken was seasoned to perfection & most of all we were welcomed with open arms. For those afraid to venture into areas like Paterson... Get over yourself and go get some food a$$ food

Called in an order for a brown stew fish and a curry chicken. I was told I could chose a side that comes with the meal. I chose Mac and cheese for the chicken I ordered cabbage and I also ordered a side of cabbage which was 3.00. I asked the total and was told 43.00, pickup in 20 minutes. I sent my husband 35 minutes after and he had to wait over 20 minutes to receive the order then they had the nerve to charge 49.22 saying the Mac was an extra side when the server clearly said it came with the meal. I don’t even eat Mac cheese but would give it to my daughter. I called back immediately and the server apologized that she had gone downstairs and they rung it up incorrectly, however she would talk to her boss Owen and have them give me something for the value. Fine. I sent there some days after with my receipt and the cashier had me through the ring searching for credit card payment. Eventually she found it and said oh you had a side of macaroni so I had to explain myself over again which was rather frustrating as they made a mistake and rather than compensate me, they made me the villain as if I’m a macaroni thief. Felt utterly disgusted. They made a mistake and I said just give me the side of macaroni my daughter just walked there from east 46 street. They refused to even plate me a side of Mac that they charged for. Will definitely not recommend them again as that day I was treating my staff. We operate a soul food restaurant in Paterson but they like Jamaican food. My daughter buys macaroni there at least three times per week. Never again. There are several places on 10th Ave where my business is valued. I would never treat a customer that way. My daughter waited for twenty minutes whilst I battled with them on the phone for my 5.35 and they let a 14 year old walk back home without that max and cheese. Very bad PR. Shakina she said her name was and T was my...

Poor service,my experience there was aweful!!!!! To begin with,i walk in there, everyones grumpy to be working. I asked for a menu and was rudely ignored for about 10 minutes until the lady unwantingly told me theres no more(sorry for asking jeez) when she put my food in the bag and handed it to me it the contents inside immediately spilled over, I didn't even acknowlege that due to the fact that everyone was just salty like they dont want to serve people(then dont)its like they even train the new workers to be miserable too.sad to say,it even almost had a racist vibe in there like i wasnt welcomed.(Im not your enemy people, remember puertoricans are minorities too!!) What's the point in having good food if you can't treat others the way you want to be treated? Not going there again. It sucks because this place is literally around the corner...
