First off Im not here to bash this restaurant, but I do believe constructive criticism is needed.
Firstly the website needs to be gone though as it has broken links (when you click menu it says server not found) the checkout system with square pay will not let me check out. When you search for JA patty on google the number listed is incorrect so when you call it it does not ring (your seo needs to be addressed). I called to place an order & the person that took my order didn’t put it in the system and left without notifying other staff (not a big deal just an observation)
Secondly…the food wasn’t as good as i hoped it would be. We ordered two jerk chicken patties and 1 beef. The first words out of my mouth was “dry”. Second was that I wouldn’t know that it was “jerk” chicken if I wasn’t the one who ordered it.
The beef patty (on the site it says “best seller”) was even dryer than the chicken and lacked seasoning. Had a sawdust like consistency. The actual patty pocket was buttery and flaky and was the best part.
I think JA patty has the potential to get better just needs a little more time or better quality control. Hopefully these things will be fixed and I can give them another go in the future, but for now I feel it was a waste of...

I’ve known of Ja Patty for a while, and have sampled their food at events, it’s always tasty, and legit great Jamaican food. The fact they now have a brick & mortar only confirms that the community has good taste and has demanded to be able to get their Ja Patty fix all the time now.
I came in at 2:30 for a late lunch, hard to pick between jerk chicken or curry goat, but I wanted to try the signature Jerk. It was like a nice warm hug on this cold dreary day, the chicken was really tender, had some good heat, but it won’t blow your socks off, I’m sure if needed, they’ll up the spice for you. The coconut rice was so fluffy, it had the coconut fragrance just wafting from it, and the just right crunchy slaw provided a nice acidic bite, then the maduros gave a sweet respite from the heat, if needed.
Bonus points that the bowl, fork and sauce cups were all compostable but sturdy, and the Ting bottle was recyclable.
Overall, great food, amazing space with beautiful murals on all the walls, comfy seating and...
Read moreI am so torn in writing this review. I came to their new restaurant to check them out as I have heard about them for a long time. I ordered the beef patty with tamarind sauce and jerk sauce on the side. The food came out very quickly and at a good temperature. Where I am torn is the food was good... BUT it doesn't have an authentic Jamaican taste at all. So if I was given this patty with no context I would say it is great. Considering though it is supposed to be a Jamaican beef patty, it falls short. Now on to the sauces... The tamarind was very good just not sure I would pair it with a patty. The jerk sauce was anything but authentic...it was a very thin sauce with a heavy taste of soy sauce vs the heat and flavor of jerk. The patty crust itself is more bread like than the typical Jamaican flakey crust. The meat inside was good but again not authentic...missing the allspice flavor. I want to be real in my review. I would say check this place out and enjoy a patty or 3, but don't come with the expectation of true Jamaican flavors and...
