My favorite coffee place in payson. Pros: Delicious coffee (better than I've had in even the phoenix valley at various shops). Very friendly staff every single time I've been here (15+ times) +various sitting areas inside and outside. Including couches, bar seating, and a large patio. Perfect for working on a laptop or reading. +Great seasonal drinks that are usually unique, that I don't see at other coffee shops.
Cons: -This place is not cheap! You will be paying a bit more than starbucks for even a small, but it's worth it for the quality in my opinion.
🌟Overall: an easy 5 stars! 🌟
UPDATE: the last several times I've been here, there was some good music playing at a decent level for either talking with friends or just sitting and tuning out with a tasty drink ❤
PREVIOUS: But sometimes it feels a bit...quiet? It can make it a little awkward when talking with someone in the shop and others are clearly listening in. This has happened a couple times. People are always friendly, but I wish they would play some music or something. It makes me think twice about using this as a meet up spot...
Read moreI have been going to common grounds ever since I moved to Payson and I have always loved their unique coffee. However, the last few times that I have gone my drinks just have not been made up to par. Every time that I’ve gone recently it’s been a different person so I am guessing they are new baristas in training! Yay!! My problem is every time that I’ve gone I end up spending a good $30 because I enjoy going with my family and all of our drinks just don’t come out good. It sucks because we have gone back and asked if the drinks were made correctly and they say they followed the recipe. We aren’t ones to argue so we just leave. I love this place, but if you’re going to welcome new baristas, please make sure they know the recipe before leaving them to fend for themselves. PLEASE it’s usually just one or two of them working and they work hard! But I want my drinks made correctly. I come here because I love the local food and drinks and would just love if I could walk in there knowing I’m going to get...
Read moreWe stopped by Common Grounds with our infant daughter for a little coffee break and had such a great experience. We ordered two large iced Georgia lattes (brown sugar cinnamon with caramel drizzle—delicious!) and a sourdough everything bagel with cream cheese. The drinks were spot-on, the bagel was fresh, and the cozy couch seating made it easy to relax and enjoy some quiet time.
After about 30 minutes, our daughter accidentally knocked over one of the lattes. Without hesitation, Luke—the barista behind the counter—immediately asked, “What were you drinking? Can I get you another one?” and made a fresh replacement for free. The other barista, Caleb (who happened to be Luke’s brother), came over right away with a mop and towels and cleaned it up with zero fuss.
Amazing drinks, super kind staff, and a warm, welcoming vibe. It’s the kind of place that turns a spilled coffee into a reason to come back....
