After giving this great review below, we had been to fargos twenty plus times. Unfortunately when visiting we ordered fish and it was spoiled not just once but twice. My experience with the manager was short and sweet. She thought I was wrong and made me feel bad for returning spoiled fish. The entire restaurant could smell. She said her chef thought it was fresh. It clearly wasn't.... my son was sitting next to me and the waitress both could smell it, let alone the whole restaurant. So we didn't go to fargo's for over six months. We decided we would give them another chance and went for dinner last week. 1/2 of my fillet was so hard. I couldn't cut it with my knife. I did eat the other half, but my green beans tasted old and the sauce from the filet was all over the potatoes and the green beans and the entire plate.. After my son took one bite of his Alfredo with grilled chicken. It had no flavor and tasted like a washcloth. Chicken was baked and processed meat. We told our waitress and she said well you can talk to the manager. I simply said that that probably won't do any good as I reminder of our previous engagement with the manager and owner. We didn't ask for a refund or anything.
About five minutes later, she came over and took our plates, said she was taking them to the kitchen for the manager to look at. Five minutes later I see the manager walking around the restaurant and called her over (Amber) She said that they told her we didn't want to talk to her. The waitress had already brought our checkback after taking our plates that had eighty five percent of our meal still on them.. The manager insisted we pay our $85 bill. And when I asked for our food to be returned. She said she didn't know where it was. And, the owner told her not to give us any credit refund or refire of our food.. It's as if the manager has no authority whatsoever. When I said I wasn't gonna be able to pay the bill. Then they threatened to call the police on us. I simply replied about the grilled chicken, not being grilled on one of their Facebook posts yesterday. And they sent me a message saying that I had complained multiple times and that I consumed eighty five percent of my meal and I was just looking for a free meal which is completely ridiculous.. All I wanted was what I ordered and not to have to reorder something. Simplistic that they didn't screw up. Now, after giving my response on Facebook, the manager blocked us and it's the same experience that I have spoke to many locals here in Payson. And they have given me similar stories every time.
Do yourself a favor and save your money. Go to somewhere that appreciates you as a customer like Mackys or Duzas for a good dinner out. Also recommend K's sushi and the china thai restaurant on the eighty seven.
All of these restaurants will not steal your food from you. And they appreciate your business and want you to return in the future. They are not hateful angry stuck up. People like there are at fargo's steakhouse. As we left that night. I raised my voice to let others know that they had just stolen our food an insisted we pay or face police called on us. One of the waitresses raised her voice and said that we couldn't afford to eat there.. Ironic from a person that job is to serve others that can afford to eat their.. I wonder how I afforded to eat there. The other 20 times that we visited when the service and the food we're acceptable even good.
What I find Amazing is this owner? Didn't even realize that we had been there twenty times and gave great reviews like what's below..
I no longer stand by that review and feel sorry for the owners. Please save your time and money and go elsewhere.
The review below is no longer valid
Too bad it didn't used to be like this before. They allowed two of their employees to die from covid during the pandemic.
Top notch food and drinks. Great for fish and steaks. My broiled Branzino was amazing. The pastrami burger is another favorite. Don't forget the patio for your...
Read moreWe have patronized this establishment every several months or so since it first opened about 20 years ago. Our experiences have always been pleasent and commendable. This last one however was unbelievably bad. We arrived in the mid afternoon for an early dinner and were led to and seated by our request in the outside patio immediately against the building wall and adjacent to the walkout gate. I noticed the person taking us to the table was actually the greeting/appointment hostess leaving that post unoccupied although there was another couple waiting. The hostess was a diminutive very young woman I had never seen before and seemed somewhat unaccustomed to the job. The first table the other side of the gate contained a late middle age couple and a young girl (about 10 years old). The woman had a small lap dog which she had placed on the remaining chair and was fussing over. For unknown reason our drink and menu orders seemed unaccountably slow. Serving staff attention seemed totally absent. Although things were busy the restaurant was not crowded and I assumed it may be an afternoon shift change. After ordering and awaiting meal service the earlier mentioned people at the adjacent table were preparing to leave. The little girl exited the gate and the woman collected her bag and dog which she immediately began fondling and kissing. I then observed the animal had urinated on the chair and a puddle had collected on the floor beneath it. The couple saw it also but immediately left through the exit gate. I can certainly understand and agree with a service animal accompanying as long as the animal is well behaved and not allowed to sit at the table. This animal was a merely a hug toy being kissed, and allowed to urinate on furniture next to our table. That is pretty off putting in a establishment serving food. I called the young man bussing tables and pointed it out to him. I insisted he completely clean and sanitize the floor, chair and table. He did so which actually took several minutes of mopping and wiping. We also notified our server the next time we could attract her attention. She seemed unconcerned. Overall this visit was not pleasent. The service was slow and inattentive. The food as always was excellent but customer care was totally unacceptable. For probably the first time ever I did not leave a tip. On this particular visit I was accompanied by a young adult relative but upon later relating the incident to my spouse she remarked she had seen nearly the same thing happen about six months earlier. She said the couple description was similar but they had no child with them although the woman did have the little dog which was piddling on the chair and floor.
We will visit again and hope this was just a bad day. If we see this sort thing continuing, we...
Read moreI’m tempted to give the place one star based on some of the service, temperature, and food quality issues. However, there were some enjoyable moments and hints that our visit may have been an off night (at least for us). Nice place. Good atmosphere. Hostess asked if we minded sitting in the bar area. Didn’t see a problem with it until the service became an issue seemingly because of it. Talk about a sloooow and drawn out experience! We were celebrating a birthday. Our server, which may have been a bartender or a manager seemed a little edgy, kind of frazzled. She was nice enough at first. She just seemed a little tense and acted like she was being stretched a little too thin. We ordered oysters Rockefeller and calamari. My son really dug the oysters. I thought they were “meh”. Calamari was good, a little skimpy portion-wise. Cesar salad, blech! Wilted, brown, soggy. Bread had potential but it had that microwaved texture. The entrees were ALL cold. Sitting in the window for an extended period of time no doubt. All entrees came with bland and sad looking veggies. We didn’t ask for those lol. Anyway, generous portion on the prime rib and it was cooked perfectly, very tasty too. The chicken Florentine (not sure if I got that right) was delicious! The medallions entree, no bueno! The steak was tough, overcooked, and it had ZERO flavor. The “baked” potato was hard as a rock, way undercooked. And again, EVERYTHING cold. I mentioned it being my kid’s birthday. The server, or whoever she was acted annoyed that I even mentioned it and could barely muster the most fake and insincere “Happy Birthday” in his direction. Way to put a damper on someone’s special occasion! I do think she tried to make up for it, but it’s still hard to excuse. We wanted to try multiple deserts but weren’t asked. Instead we were seemingly sort of rushed out of there with a complimentary birthday cake and after such a long drawn out ordeal. Ugh. Might end up giving it another whirl when we happen out that way again but we’ll wait to sit in the dining area and ask if the baked...
