PITA Mediterranean Street Food - Newnan (Thomas Crossroads) — Restaurant in Peachtree City

I would give this five stars for the falafel alone. But there were other factors that influenced my decision in giving it three stars. The falafel salad could have been a nice contrast of color, texture and flavor, but for the use of the outer leaves of the Romaine, which were tough, bitter, bruised and wilted. That alone, plus the unmanageably large cuts just about rendered the salad inedible. I had to pick them out, which reduced the salad by half. I understand saving money, but using the outer leaves as filler in an 8 dollar salad was disappointing.

Next, was the baba ganoush in the Three Mezze appetizer. The yogurt and hummus were spot on and the Kalamata olives in the savory yogurt were a nice salty and smooth contrast. The baba ganoush is supposed to be comfort food, but there was no fire roasted flavor, with bits of caramelized eggplant and garlic to offset the eggplant, which is supposed to be silky. The eggplant was sadly bitter and the garlic raw and hot.

Then there was the Kafta, which is ground highly seasoned lamb. All I tasted was pepper. No mint, no parsley or onion, and it certainly didn't taste like lamb. It looked rather red on the inside, but I believe that was from the use of nitrites versus it being raw, since Kafta is supposed to be a type of seasoned meat mixture, similar to sausage.

Lastly, the pita was more like pizza, which was doughy and chewy. No pockets in it, which is kind of the point with pita.

I did like the idea of grilled vegetables until I saw mine. The carrots were nice and tender, but the zucchini was thick-cut, and large, but not left on long enough to get a bit of char and tender on the inside. The seasoning was mediocre, with just a dusting of paprika instead of a hanout.

What a gem! Tried this place after seeing their billboard on the highway off of 85! Great way to market this clean intimate delicious restaurant. First let me say, when I came in I was very undecided about what to get because I didn’t want to be disappointed. And John eased my anxiety. I told him I was a pescatarian and he recommended so many interesting options with add specialized suggestions, I was ecstatic 🤩 I went with the falafel bowl. It was a no brainer. I came there on Thursday and all bowls are $9. Then I requested a side of cauliflower which they were out of… John said we have a half a serving left. I make it as a sampler… omggggg! I’m hooked. I love love it 😍. It’s NOT SALTY NOR BREADED BUT VERY FLAVORFUL 🤤🤤🤤 They need a cauliflower option for everything thing there… SERIOUSLY! The good news is that you can special request it 😁 The falafel is good! The falafel bowl was nice but the next day I got the salmon pita and greek fries 🤤 Why did I listen to John!! I’m hooked as he said I would be, which was his disclaimer when he recommended it😉 Boy oh boy…Check them out! And if you’re lucky they will have the cauliflower.

On yesterday 4/10/2024 I ordered 2 gyro sandwich plates with rice…instead I got a plate full of meat, four pieces of bread and rice I’m not a big meat eater so I do like when it’s sliced thin.. but instead the meat was very thick and I didn’t eat it I called soon as I can to Let the guy know that he charged me for something that I didn’t ask for ..he proceeded to tell me the manager will be in tomorrow he would take my name down and to call and let her knw and she will remake my order..so I went in today 4/12/2024 and explained to the manager what happened.. she told me that she can’t remake them both but she can charge me for one and half off the other… I just wanna know why I had to wait for the manager that didn’t resolve the issue..first off he should have offered for me to bring the food back to be remaid that same day.!And to the so called manager it’s not always about the money ..it’s about what makes your customers happy..so yes I left with nothing… No FOOD are No REFUND.. she just lost a good customer and she didn’t seem to...
