Update 2: it's sad how you didn't even acknowledge my original review nor apologize. I know you guys get a ton of good reviews. I know your reputation is stellar. AND I'm convinced the 4 reviews to counter my negative review were written by your employees or friends. You guys are making a ton of money and can withstand one or two bad reviews. You don't need to make fake ones. Just improve your customer service, stop being cheap, and don't stoop to the level of writing your own reviews. You don't need to do that.
Update: four 5 star ratings without reviews, immediately after I posted a 1 star review. Hmm...
We purposely went to Kimchi Red today because our kids asked for it. We spent roughly $80 on 2 orders of chicken, a bulgogi rice bowl, and fries. The buzzer they handed us went off, and as I went up to get our food, I was given the fries but was told to come back in 5 minutes for the rest of our food. I told the cashier that we would like to receive our fries at the same time as our food, and when I told her this, she said, "What would you like us to do? Waste the food? We already made it for you." When I told her we paid $9 for the fries and that we wanted them fresh with the rest of our food, she continued to refuse to help me so a Korean girl stepped in. I explained my request to her, and she appeared to acquiesce. After 5 minutes passed, we got our food and the cashier placed the SAME FRIES onto our tray. When I pointed this out, the Korean girl said to me, "I never said I would re-make your fries for you. You had a chance to eat them, and you refused." When I said I wanted fresh fries, she said, "They were fresh when I handed them to you." When I said, "We paid $80 for this lunch and $9 for the fries. Is it asking too much for you to re-make the fries so they would have come out with the chicken so we could enjoy them at the same time?" she pointed out that we paid for 1 order of fries, and they made 1 order.
If someone wants their side items 1st (as an app), that request can be made. But she said, "Most people munch on their fries while waiting for the rest of their food."
That is not how our family enjoys our fries.
And you can't just make that determination for us.
She stood firm in her decision to hand us cold fries with our hot chicken. She continued to put the blame on me because I let them go cold, even though I asked 2 different people to re-make them.
The Korean girl was not rude. She did everything with a smile. And honestly, at the original location in Alpharetta, the service was very friendly.
The cashier? Rude.
That's just bad/cheap customer service.
And we had the food for dine in.
I was sure she would make it right by bringing us a fresh order of fries to avoid a negative review. I was certain they would realize they were being cheap.
But no one did anything for us.
I realize they are an "award winning" Korean fried chicken, and because of that, their prices are higher than the other Korean fried chicken places around town.
But the actual chicken itself was not better than BBQ's or any of the other places we have been to. Don't get me wrong. It definitely wasn't bad. The chicken was fine.
But it also isn't the "best," especially at the price point they're charging and especially with that sort of service today.
My mom's bulgogi bowl? She didn't enjoy it all.
I wanted to post photos of this place on my social media. I wanted to post photos of this place in my Asian food group. I wanted to support them. I wanted to have a great lunch with my family.
Instead, because this business couldn't re-make fresh fries for me, I'm sitting her writing this review and I told my kids we won't ever go back.
It's such a Korean way of doing business (and I can say this because I am Korean): refusing to re-make food or offer good customer service because you're nickel and diming everything... all the while, charging an arm and a leg for everything (did I mention fries were $9?).
You traded cold fries and a refusal to re-make my fries for this review.
That's...
Read moreI had one of the WORST dining experiences at Kimchi Red and will absolutely never be coming back. From the moment we walked in, the cashier was extremely rude and dismissive. They didn’t even take our order correctly, and when we tried to clarify, instead of fixing it politely, they chose to misbehave and talk down to us. The food was just as disappointing as the service. The chicken was completely dry, with absolutely no sauce on it. When we asked for more sauce, the server acted annoyed and continued to be rude instead of simply bringing it over. When we pressed further, the cashier literally said, “I will only do one thing, I can give you two more sauces and then we are done, that’s it.” And mind you, the “sauces” she was giving us were in tiny 2-ounce caps—barely enough for even a single bite. To make matters worse, when we asked about a refund, the cashier verbatim said, “I know you guys will take the refund and still eat this food because I know how you guys are.” That kind of language is not only unprofessional but also insulting—completely unacceptable from any business that serves customers. On top of all that, the kitchen was closed at 8 p.m., even though their website clearly states they close at 9. This is misleading and feels very shady, if not outright illegal. If you advertise that you’re open until 9, the kitchen should not be closed an entire hour earlier. Overall, the experience was horrible—rude staff, wrong order, dry food with no sauce, and the most disrespectful customer service I’ve ever encountered. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. There are plenty of other restaurants that actually care about their customers and the quality...
Read moreThis was our second time at Politan row in the Forum since they’ve opened & the first time we came Kimchi Red’s line was really long so we were definitely looking forward to trying them out this time.
One of the workers recommended we try THE BOWL which I don’t think would have been our first or second choice if we were ordering on our own. This Korean BBQ in a Bowl is very much worth trying. We choose the fried chicken as our protein and the bowl includes Japchae noodles, stir- fried kimchi, over white steamed rice, drizzled in spicy mayo and their KR gochujang sauce.
THE BOWL is very eye catching as well because as soon as we sat down the couple next to use couldn’t stop staring until they eventually asked if it was good haha,...
