I used to love eating at Pekin Culvers. I used to take my family 3 times a week to the Pekin Culvers. Over the last year or so the friendly service has gone way down especially compared to other Culvers. I dont feel like my expectations are to high. I do expect to be greeted with a hello, smile, and how can I help you. That doesn't happen most times at the Pekin location. I feel like when I go to the counter to order the employees act like I am bothering them. The food is good and orders are accurate but friendliness is real bad. Last week we ate our meal and my daughter wanted to go shopping before eating her custard. When I came back to get the custard we went through the drive thru. There was a line about 4 cars long. We were not in a hurry so no big deal. There was an employee struggling with the keys at the back door trying to get in after taking garbage out. Instead of ordering first I let the person taking the order know he was locked out because it was 5 degrees out that night. Then I told her I had a kids scoop for a free custard and would like vanillla with cookie dough. She said ok and to pull around to the window. We sat at the window while 5 different employees ignored us. The drive thru girl even went to the counter to help a little girl get her scope of custard. There were no other customers at the counter to wait on. Even the manger ignored us. After waiting several minutes we had to leave without getting the custard. I've decided to not return to the Pekin Culvers. It's a shame that I can't have culvers unless I'm in Peoria or Morton. I just am tired of being treated like I am a bother to...
Read moreI have had many bad experiences at the Pekin Culver’s. I go a length of time not going back then give in because I have always loved the food. Well, this is it for me at the Pekin location. My kids wanted some custard on this nice day. So, we went through the drive thru. Lady taking my order was very nice and pleasant. Which is rare for this location so I was pleased at this point. I ordered 3 mini concrete mixers. 2 with M&M’s and 1 with butterfinger pieces. They were all less portioned but mine was worst of them all. It was under half way full. Now, I’m upset because it’s almost $4 for a mini concrete mixer and I had maybe 3 bites in mine and maybe 5 for my kids. I looked at the lady in drive thru and asked NICELY, “Hey, is there a reason these aren’t filled”? She replied “ What do you mean? We have to have room to mix”. With a smirk on her face. I just laughed and left because I was so furious and didn’t wanna take it overboard. I have had mini concrete mixers from here before and never have they even been halfway full! They have always been filled to the rim! I am just done with all the experiences that I have had here! If we go to another Culver’s it will be in a different town and that will...
Read moreCulvers is my go to place on the road and at home. Because of food allergies i cannot eat anything at taco bell, zaxbys, kfc, pizza hut, and most places. My silver lining is that if there is a culvers available i know that the high standards are the same at each one . Always good food. For me it is a burger snak pack at about 20 times a year. My wife loves their codfish and my dad and mom love their breaded tenderloin sandwich. My daughter gets a chicken sandwich. She doesn't usually eat fast food but has never complained about culvers when we need a fast meal. I love the guldens spicey brown mustard pack on my burger . My family is however not fond of frozen custard. It looks great but i am allergic to it. Some of my friends do love it though. Can't go wrong at culvers. That is how i used to feel about steak n shake and burger king until things started going...
