Worst place ever. Spent over 3 hours there. I know there is a lot that needs fixed on my car, but basically said I couldn't leave without paying almost $2500. Told him I didn't even have half of that and then said I could get away with over $1300. Told him I still didn't have that and he asked me to call and see if I could get the money from someone. He did mention get a credit line, but i told him I couldn't do that either. Then, after 3.5 hours I said I didn't know what to do so I was going to have my sister come and get me, and he said he could repair one of my tires to get me out of there.
You hear horror stories about how mechanics treat women and take advantage of them. This is one of those places. Brenden Dunn was my mechanic and I will never go back to that place again and will tell everyone I know not to go either. I wasted a whole day's work in the waiting room crying because I thought I wasn't going to be able to drive away. He needs to learn how to treat people better and to not hold them "hostage." I'd give negative stars if I could. Only saving grace was Gregory Wooding at the desk. He is a very thoughtful person.
In response to your review. I messaged you and told you I don't want to talk to anyone who works for your company. Nothing you can do or say can make up for my experience. I told your mechanic I couldn't afford any of the options he presented. I showed him my actual bank account foe what I could afford and he told me to ask someone in my family for money or to have them apply for your credit card. Neither one of those were options anyone should be presented by a salesman. Even seeing how much I had in my bankaccount, he still never even got close to what I could afford. The closest he had was double what I had available. So I was never going to be able to afford any of the options he presented. I showed your mechanics list of repairs to another mechanic(who is fixed my car for $400, new brakepads and rotars...problem solved), and he said that some of that stuff your mechanic said i needed, he couldn't have known needed fixed by just taking off the tires. I'm proud of you for sticking up for your employee though. It's great you all cherish having crooks...
Read moreRecently, I relocated from St. Louis to Pekin. I began looking for an auto shop in/near Pekin that would be as reasonable & trustworthy as my long-time auto shop in STL.
I'm not good with mechanics so I asked some co-workers where I could take my car and not be sold a "bunch of unneeded parts". They chimed in that Hiller had a good reputation, so when I suspected my tires were just about threaded-out, I went to Hiller for new rubber. After making an appointment, I dropped my car there before they opened. Within an hour, I received a call from Gary in the Hiller shop. He confirmed that I needed new tires. I thought they were a bit pricey, but not unreasonable. But my time and respect is always worth a few extra dollars, so when Gary took time to explain the treadware and a few othet routine items I asked about, and I was confident he was NOT trying to upsell me (I later researched what Gary told me, and he was spot-on target and gave me the respect of not talking over my head, nor talking down to me! For me, this was car repair heaven! I've been back at least four times for some moderate reviews, and I still feel confident of the Hiller team. On two occasions, my car was not quite ready at the promised time, but only by 20-25 minutes ~ that's the only reason I didn't give 5-stars. Otherwise, it was a good experience, and I'll keep returning to Hiller for my future automotive...
Read moreI would give them a ten star rating if I could. I was in Pekin visiting friends when I discovered I had a screw in my tire. Since I live 80 miles away, I had to figure out how to get it fixed. I arbitrarily chose Hiller Automotive since it was near the gas station that I had just gone to to fill up the nearly flat tire. Aiden was working and looked at the tire and heard the air quickly escaping from the tire where the screw was. He said because of the location of the screw and the condition of the tire it was not repairable. My regular mechanic had told me that we needed new tires, so this wasnt a surprise. It was after 5pm and they closed at 530pm. He helped me decide which tires would be available for the vehicle based on how long, we were planning on keeping it. He said he could order the tires and get them tomorrow and install them tomorrow. He offered me a ride so I could wait for my ride to arrive from out of town. I cannot say enough nice things about the treatment that I received. The next day the tires were installed. I dont want to go on tooo long about how wonderful my experience was, because no one will want to read it. Bottom line is that I was impressed with Aiden and his team and would highly recommend them if you are...
