Great little neighborhood restaurant. Very clean, friendly atmosphere. Coffee only $1.49 a cup. I would recommend it.
Update: For whatever reason I had an urge to revisit after 4 or so years. This time without my dearly departed wife, Rena. I was plenty surprised that they are open 7 days a week from 7 A.M. until 3 P.M. Think they used to close a 2, but don't know for sure. 3 o'clock is more reasonable. I seated myself, but my waitress was there in a flash. The menus that fold are on the table all the time behind the condiments. I like that idea completely. The menu folds out like an accordion and doesn't take up space. It's full of many, many food items to chose from. I chose from the senior menu. Nice large fillet of walleye, fried American potatoes/tatters and a nice size cup of nice rich potato soup. I could have chosen a salad instead. I had a glass of ice water with a lemon slice. They actually put a slice of lemon in the glass. Most restaurants forget or don't care, but my waitress did today. They sell Pepsi products, which I like. Coffee is still less than 2 bucks. Most places these days seem to charge at least $3.49 for a cup. My food was delicious and filling. Just the right amount to satisfy. All for $8.24 including tax. No desserts on the menu or I may have been tempted. Some suggestions are that they have a hot sauce and napkins on the table like the other condiments. Would like to see taters fried up with some sliced onions and maybe a little garlic for variety. May be worth the effort to try if people would like some that way as I do. They have a nice selection of jelly on the table and that's good. Even have a menu skew embedded in the table top if you don't want to handle the menu. They don't accept checks, only cash or credit. Lots of customers coming and going. Has to be a local favorite and that says a lot. Give them a try is...

I was already uncomfortable about the chairs being up and wanted to leave..but waitress came and took order. 2 groups of customers came in on got the last table the chairs were not up yet the other got a booth. Its 130p another couple comes in looking confused No waitress insight. I told them that yes they were open and someone was in hurry to clean up. They wanted a table but forced to take a booth. This woman asked about the chairs. Waitress stated she did not want to be there till 5 pm cleaning up salt. Note I looked..floors rather clean other werethe last couple sat at table. Thought was pretty lame excuse. Chairs were up for 20 minutes before waitress decided to sweep which by the wat too her about ten minutes. Waitress made sure you new waffles not available they turned machine off at one. Already changed sign for specials when we came in. They were ready to go. Read moreWe had breakfast here for the first time today. I'm pleased to report that this is our new home town breakfast location! The dining room was spotless (not always a given in this town), and the service prompt and courteous. Both my husband and I ordered coffee, which was flavorful, and not at all burnt- a great start! I ordered the veggie skillet, which can often be bland, with vegetables that are either mushy, and overcooked, or barely heated, and almost raw. I'm pleased to report that these vegetables had that perfectly balanced slightly crisp texture, and were pleasantly flavorful! The hashbrowns were browned and the eggs met the exact description of over easy! The dish also included cheese, which was plentiful enough for a woman from Wisconsin to feel satisfied! My husband had chicken fried steak and eggs, which, according to him, were sublime! Not too greasy, peppery gravy, and well- seasoned breading on the steak. All in all, a satisfying start to our Sunday morning! Another bonus- a menu varied enough that we look forward to sampling more...
