Smoothie King — Restaurant in Pembroke Pines

I had a horrible experience at this Smoothie King location on July 15, 2021 in the afternoon. I was left waiting by the teenagers working for nearly ten minutes before they took my order. They were in the back, not minding the counter. Submitting the order was a chore! No pleasantries, greetings or even an engaged personality. They behaved like disinterested automatons. After they took my order, these two young persons were more interested in washing the stack of blender carafes in the sink than making my order with the clean and available-to-use carafes. I had to wait for them to finish doing dishes for them to make my order. While this is going on, a line of other customers was forming. I had three smoothies in my order. Two were nearly identical except one was a slim, one wasn’t. They made these first and then proceeded to wash more dishes before making the third, which was for my child who was waiting and thirsty. With regard to the first two, they didn’t bother labeling them and told me which one was was which, except they botched it! The slim (with stevia) was for me and so I ended up drinking the one with turbinado. I am a diabetic. I didn’t have a good day after drinking it. The other was supposed to go to my wife who hates stevia. Since I was bringing it home to my wife I couldn’t just switch with her after she noticed hers wasn’t correct. (I have trouble telling the difference in taste). To conclude, maybe the franchisee should invest in kiosk ordering and people who actually need jobs as employees as opposed to disinterested kids with vacant eyes and and...

This place has potential. Overall smoothy king is a good franchise. This location looks good and clean and it's in a good plaza. However I give it two starts because it's honestly lacking. They need management. I came once in the morning, and there were three of us waiting while one worker was sitting on a chair probably thinking to herself "it's not my cooking time yet.". - meanwhile her teammate is actually making smoothies. He was so annoyed with her they didn't even speak to each other and I had to leave due to the long wait time

Second time I come in the evening. Same thing. I wasn't until 6 mins till someone acknowledged that I was on the register. ( Not waiting in line). There were like 4 workers. All young. Which is fine.. they looked like good kids .. but lacking management.

They were doing their best, but everyone waiting was simply disappointed. Finally while taking my order , the young men was trying to send a text on his personal phone and I had to repeat myself 3 times. (Calmly. ) I even gave them a. 1 dollar tip. Out of compassion.

Then that same young man tried asking for a customers social media account, because she was wearing typical gym girl clothes. She looked like 15 doe.

Parents and onlookers looked disappointed.

I think this place has potential. But if the manager lady with some green spart in her hair is the manager. They need to mature and do a better job.

Unfortunately I can't keep coming here. I'll go to smoothy time or another location.

Just turn off the pick up orders. TURN OFF THE PICK UP ORDERS. I literally sat and watched people come in and place their order, wait, and go. Meanwhile I’m sitting there after the time my pick up is supposed to be ready. I might as well have come in and ordered like everyone else. They asked what my name was, noted it in the stack of pick-up orders, and still let me sit there while they worked on orders for people who weren’t even here to pick them up yet. Fridge full of orders to pick up but the one order where the person is actually here to pick it up, they left sitting in the lobby. What sense does that make? Explain the logic. Just turn off the pick up orders then. Expecting these kids to be able to multitask is expecting too much. I ordered at 11:44 and it’s 12:12 and I’m just leaving. You should run the video back and see how many people came and went while I sat there. What was the point in asking me for my name??? Just to keep serving other people who weren’t even there.

Waste time asking me for my name…just to keep tending to people who aren’t here yet.
