Read moreGoing to give them a 3 for now, but it's more my fault than there's. I can't give them an honest grade because I'm sick and not tasting the food how I should. I want to return when I'm well, Lord willing.
Now, as a lover of pizza, I've been craving some for a while. Anthony's Coal Fired is my go-to. Never fail. Great pizza. And even if they do slip, they make it up expeditiously and incredibly.
But tonight, I'm venturing. I was going to try another pizza spot I saved in the area, I won't mention names, but when I looked on their site, they had women pictured hand tossing the dough. Immediate turn off for me because I'm keenly aware of how comfortably filthy humans are. And I'm sorry, but women in restaurants are the worst. Barehanded or gloves on, they scratch their skin, rub their noses or hair behind their ears, and go right back to food prep. It's absolutely disgusting. Women with my doe hanging off their possibly unclean bare arms through me off.
Anyway, that's how I ended up at Mr. 01. Searched the area, saw them, their site passed the vibe check, I'm in!
So I sat in my car and decided what I wanted. They have great options. And affordable small portion options if you're like me & want a taste test without going broke. (They also deduct cost if you subtract ingredients. Order a meatlovers, don't want pork, they deduct the cost. Not sure I've ever seen this charitable hospitality before.)
My order: Pepperoni cooked well! I could order online. Their user-friendly website is there, but I like to go in my first time. I need to check for things like hospitality, cleanliness, sanitary (not just quick), service and conditions, etc. All of that matters to me.
So I go in. I'll wrap my review up here.
Great menu, extensive options, fair pricing: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars
Very friendly and prompt greeting by staff: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars
It's a small place, and they're packed on a Thursday. There's not a lot of moving room. But I can't take away for that. We all start somewhere. The vibe wasn't bad at all. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 1/2 stars
Ordering is fluid and easy. They allowed me to wait on my car and texted me when my pizza was ready. Which didn't take long. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars
Their slices are thin, and their crispy was perfect. Not under or over cooked. Food prepared as ordered: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cleanliness, sanitary service, (service features most establishments have abandoned these days), and taste are what I need to come back for.
That's why I could only give a 3 1/2 ⭐️ review overall. Not because they failed. But because I couldn't complete the experience on my end. I'll add that the food was also packaged well.
Hopefull, I'll be able to return soon and give a true grade. For now, I do recommend and you may also find the outside seating attractive.
I'm an introvert, and I was hungry, so I just...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Mister 01 Pizza in Pembroke Pines, and it was an extraordinary experience. Our waitresses Dani and Anabelle, were courteous, personable, and provided valuable recommendations about the menu items. They also ensured a high quality experience, exhibiting the utmost care and certainty in their service, immediately clearing the table and replacing the dinnerware as they evaluated our progress through the meal.
The pizza itself feels revolutionary. They stick to traditional, high quality ingredients but combine flavors and shapes into a mastery of pizza engineering. The Coffee Paolo, my favorite menu item combines bleu cheese, honey, and spicy salami, adding coffee grounds on top to magically tie the ingredients together: simply out of this world. The best, and most unique, feature of the restaurant is that you can choose to make your pizzas “star shaped”, which means adding a special crust modification. The chefs will wrap the crust of each slice into a pocket shape where they then load a dollop of ricotta cheese into the open faced crevice of the dough. The result: a perfectly crunchy, modestly creamy finish to each slice of pizza. It’s like stuffed crust, but better. I had never seen such ingenuity in design and attention to detail at a pizza place, please try a star pizza when you go.
Despite the culinary brilliance, the absence of a reservation system proved challenging, especially for larger groups. Depending on the area you want to sit in and the number of people in your party, it can be challenging to accommodate into their system without enduring a lengthy wait, which can be mentally taxing and uncomfortable if you’re hungry.
In summary, Mister 01 Pizza delivers an exceptional dining experience with innovative pizza creations. The friendly staff and unique menu make it a must-try for pizza enthusiasts. However, improvements in the reservation process could further enhance the overall satisfaction of larger groups. I highly recommend trying the star-shaped pizzas for a delightful and memorable twist on...
