Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Pennsburg

I absolutely love the product that comes out of this establishment. I've been going here since I was a kid and it never got old. Until today. What soured my experience was there was a line around the building and people were standing at best 3 feet apart. I would try to step away and they'd come closer. When I got up to the front and asked why they weren't enforcing the mask law, they responded "well we have a plexiglass so I dont mind if you dont wear a mask".

I cannot in my own life think "well I'm safe so the others not surrounded in safety can just deal with others negligence." Are you afraid people will get mad cause you ask them to wear a mask for TEN MINUTES to get ICE CREAM? of all the times I've been there, only one or two people were there and had masks. I will NOT go back until this pandemic is over.

I had a solid Rita's experience at the location. There was a line to wait in, like there usually is, but the location of some tables right in front of the ordering window made the line oddly wrap around, with some people going to one side of the table, and some to the other side. I know they are space limited, but I'd try to create a gap in front of the ordering windows. Service was friendly and they seemed to get my order correct. I like the design of the building with what looks like a straw sticking up from the roof. (Old-timers tell me this was left over from a restaurant at this location 20 years ago.). I was there yesterday with my grandson. The one person ahead of us must have been a friend of the workers the conversation took long and the employee was using the f word constantly. That girl left and we walked up and she was still using it to the other employee right at the window. She saw my young grandson and continued. Then asked for out order. No apology for the unfortunate language. The owner of this Rita’s should be aware. I myself will never go back there and will tell everyone I know. Teenage girls thinking they look cool with trucker mouths. Should be ashamed of themselves. No pride in the job they are doing! Unbelievable Sincerely...
