After looking at their menu online and seeing they didn't have online ordering, I placed an order over the phone for pickup.
When I got to the restaurant, I asked for the total, it seemed a bit high based on the prices I had previously seen on the online menu. They left out the small queso. Also, the size of the large queso didn't look any larger than the small one, but was two dollars more.
Upon going back into the restaurant and letting them know my order was incorrect. The woman, Caja I think is her name, was very nonchalant about it and said the person who took my order didn't include the small queso, so I would have to buy another one. I ordered a small queso. It was over priced at 5.79 for 4 oz.
As far as the rest of the food goes, the street tacos, I'm told, tasted good and was a nice portion size from the person who ate them. I had the Texas nachos which was a good portion size, but to my surprise were very bland. You'd think with all it comes with it would be pretty flavorful, but not in my opinion. I actually went home and seasoned the nachos and my queso myself. The nachos were also packaged with the chips on the bottom underneath hot meats and onions along with the lettuce, tomatoes and guacamole all in the same container with a lid. So of course I had soggy chips when I got home and discovered that. That doesn't make any sense! Common sense would be to leave the chips, guac, lettuce and tomatoes out and package individually in another container. I guess you have to be really specific and state you want everything to the side for To Go orders, even though it should come that way to begin with because it is To Go.
Honestly I will not be wasting anymore of my money at El Parton. I previously had a similar experience at a different location. I was trying to give them another chance and to see if I'd have a better experience at this location. Nope, guess not.
TL; DR Average portion sizes. Outdated, incorrect online menu. Overpriced, small queso sizes. Bland nachos. To go is not packaged in a to go friendly way; nachos had soggy chips on the bottom. Service needs improvement. Will not be returning. Would...
Read morePretty disappointed. I've come here several times and never had any issues but today we came for lunch and were there for over 2 hours. The chips came to to table quick, took about 10 minutes after that for someone to take our drink order and then another 15 minutes after we got the drinks for someone to take our food order. All he ordered was the lunch burrito bowl and I got a single taco with beans and rice, so it wasn't a lot of food or very complicated. 25 minutes after ordering, and finishing our soft drinks, a guy who wasn't our waiter stopped by and realized we hadn't got any food yet so he rushed off and our waiter came back with our food 5 minutes later and refilled our glasses. We ate, no real complaints on the food. But we were not checked on at all for another 20 minutes. It didn't take that long to eat. We ended up with a lady WHO WAS NOT OUR SERVER asking if we needed anything. We requested boxes and our check. She came back, promptly, with boxes but said she didn't know about the check, we joked "We don't know either." Finally the guy that wasn't our server dropped off our check. Still haven't seen our actual server since he brought us the food. We waited 20 more minutes after getting the check and no one came back to finish checking us out. So we decided to stand at the front counter hoping to be noticed. My boyfriend ended up having to CALL while we were standing there to get the guy who was not our server to come check us out, a trainee in tow. That guy looked like he was running ragged so we asked if they were short staffed and his answer was "No, but some guys wanted a break and he's new, doesn't...
Read moreThe restaurant's interior is beautifully decorated with traditional Mexican artwork and vibrant colors, creating a lively and inviting ambiance. The staff at El Patron are incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every customer feels welcomed and well taken care of. As for the food, it was nothing short of exceptional. The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Mexican dishes, each bursting with authentic flavors and made with fresh ingredients. I had the pleasure of trying their famous tacos, and they did not disappoint.
The tortillas were soft and warm, and the fillings were perfectly seasoned and generously portioned. The salsa bar provided an array of delicious toppings to choose from, adding an extra layer of flavor to the already mouthwatering tacos. The drink menu at El Patron is equally impressive, featuring an extensive selection of tequilas and margaritas. I opted for their signature margarita, and it was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy, with just the right amount of tequila. The prices at El Patron are quite reasonable, considering the quality of the food and the overall dining experience. The portion sizes are generous, ensuring that you get your money's worth.
