My boyfriend and I are frequent, adoring customers of Mr. Pollo here in Pensacola and heard that they had expanded to The Garden at Palafox which is what led us to adventure here. Mr Pollo has THE SAUCES Y'ALL...for whatever your needs are!!! We visited The Garden at Palafox on Saturday, July 25th 2020 around 2PM and did not have an issue with overcrowding or finding a place to sit. We walked around and scoped out all of the options and eventually placed an order at Boca Latin Kitchen. We intended on eating here anyways but wanted to see what all they offered. We ordered three items: 1)Yuca Loca, 2)Pepito, 3)Reina Pepiada, to try and share all of them. All three were absolutely delicious and different from what we are used to at Pollos. Coke fountain products are available for drinks. If you like french friesđ but hate when they get soggy you MUST try their Yuca fries (Yuca Loca). They stay crispy and flaky throughout the whole meal even when topped with cheese, sauce (THE SAUCE WAS SO GOOD!), and toppings such as onions, meats, or pico de gallo.đ§ đ§ The Pepito had these little potato crunchies that really added an extra layer of texture to the sandwich. They use alot of the same ingredients but in completely different ways so if you have tried the restaurant (6404 N 9th Ave, Pensacola, FL 32504) & liked it, you are SURE to be a fan! Speaking of fans, they have multiple large fans going to keep the air flowing and temperature down. đ¨âWith the fans and the open concept, it really was not as hot as one would expect on a late July midday in Florida. They were quick at wiping down tables and chairs once one group got up and before the next sat down. đ§˝đ§šđ§źStaff that was cooking as well as staff that were cleaning up tables and emptying trash were all wearing face covering and gloves.đ§¤đˇ Plenty of trashcand located to place trash upon finishing.đđŽ As for bathrooms or a place to wash your hands; I did not see these as I did not really think to look for them(I carry hand sanitizer and didn't need the restroom), so I'm not able to say if these amenities are...
Read moreThe Garden started off as a little street corner where a variety of food trucks moved in to give its customers a wide selection of fine dishes to choose between. Over the years, I've been here several times and witnessed the changes from a little corner stop to a fully themed restaurant that offers an even wider array of delicious foods for all. My last trip, I stopped at the Flip-N-Yaki. Like every visit to any of the trucks, the service was fast and friendly and always full of smiles and positive energy. They made this late lunch/early dinner meal quite something by providing delicious and freshly cooked meals that were both appealing to the tastes as well as the eyes. This particular vendor made sure to treat the meal as if I was planning to share my few, presumably small, plates with a hoard of friends. Stacked tall and thick, I left with enough food to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner the following day from this one order. Whether that's their usual practice, or they were just in high spirits, they made my evening all the better for it. My companions and I left with full stomachs and a jolly mood as we carried on into the night downtown. Every chance I get to come downtown, I'm sure to try another one of the trucks that have made The Garden on Palafox their home, and I haven't found fault...
