I picked the worst day (St. Patrick's) to try the food. After a wait of 45 minutes and watching people who had ordered 20 minutes after me receive their food, I asked them to check if my take-away order was sitting in a rapidly growing stack of other take-away orders waiting to be called out. And it was. I have no idea how long it had sat there getting cold.
The order was corned beef, cabbage, carrots, and a piece of bread. I opened the Styrofoam container to see about 2 ounces of corned beef, 2 halves of one tiny potato, and about 6 baby carrots floating in about an inch of cold water, likely drained from the cold cabbage. The bread was completely soaked, and I had to throw it away. The cold corned beef tasted okay. The carrots were overcooked, limp, and swimming in cabbage water. The cabbage was cold and I couldn't eat it. It was a huge letdown.
I know they were swamped with orders, but the menu was very limited, and the focus was on the corned beef and cabbage. They should have prepared the take-away orders in anticipation of the many orders coming. And they should have been able to manage both portion control and the moisture content of the cabbage. It was perhaps the worst mask I have ever been served by...
Read moreWe had a group of 10 adults and 5 small children. The server did a very good job, but we were crowded along both sides of five 2 person tables with barely room for drink glasses and silverware. My 8 oz burger was dry and cooked well done (I ordered medium to medium well). Ketchup and mustard for the burger we not on the table and had to be requested. The sliced onion for the burger consisted of the two outer rings of a large white onion, of which the outside ring was inedible and should never have been served. The mushroom risotto sounded interesting but the risotto was severely undercooked to the point of being crunchy. The seafood chowder did have potatoes, carrots, corn and fish, but no other discernable seafood and had an odd spicing. My wife and her father had the Shepherd's pie, which had an odd, unexpected flavor and was initially served without the listed soda bread. My brother-in-law said that his Ahi Tuna Wrap was very good. I was not able to quiz the other adults about their meals. Our 7 year old niece, who is an expert on ChickenTenders, said that her's were not up to her standards. We will probably not try this...
Read moreOne word to describe my experience with this place: WOW. I got curbside pick up here yesterday and have dined in once before and I really don't have enough good things to say about it. As a vegetarian, I get really tired of the same old song and dance: people grilling vegetables and putting it on huge chunks of bread and thinking that's something vegetarians really want to eat. If I can make it super easily at home why would I buy it at a restaurant for an inflated price? These folks know what creative food is all about. I got the red pepper Gouda soup, and my partner got the couscous salad and a cup of loaded baked potato soup. The whole thing was around $25 (which I found to be insanely reasonable), and every single thing tasted incredible. All the ingredients were fresh. The food was just to the highest standard. The check out process online was super easy and we added special notes that they followed perfectly. They even wrote a lovely note that they included in the bag when we picked up. My partner said, "we need to go here every week." LOVE this place. Few...
