So it’s been years since I’ve been here so maybe I’ll try it again for a fair update.
I feel like I go way back with bomboba. I’ve easily spent $500-1000+ here. I’ve introduced my family and so many friends (at least 50 people) to this place. What’s kept me away though is the bad customer service I’ve experienced the last few times I went (by myself, with a friend, with my family). There was a cashier girl who was so rude and never smiled even if you tried your best to be friendly and make a joke. I thought maybe it was just towards me, but once I started talking about my experiences to my friends and family, I realized they experienced the same bad service (by possibly the same girl, I’ve had her more than once) when they go themselves. Most of them have stopped going as well. One of them was even lied to, and was served a drink with hair in it.
Bomboba used to (not sure if they’re still doing this) have this punch card where you end up getting a free drink. I have had so many free drinks in the past but the last time I redeemed a free drink with that rude cashier girl, she charged me extra for adding boba in my free drink and chose to make the cheapest drink I got (plain iced sweetened green tea) for free. So essentially I only got like a $2-3 discount on my order when it was supposed to be a free drink lol when I asked her about it, she basically rolled her eyes and acted really annoyed. I was the only person in the store at the time. The manager (I assume was the manager) happened to come out and basically just defended the cashier girl and didn’t sound like he cared, not even a “sorry for the misunderstanding” (if they decided to change up their free drink rule without letting customers know). Not only that, bomboba is not cheap. I don’t expect amazing service everywhere I go (and trust me, before this cashier girl, customer service was just passable, nothing special) but I don’t expect terrible service from a local boba shop. Like don’t you guys want repeat business? Or do you guys not care about your jobs either….. I didn’t ever complain when some of my fav drinks started having less flavor, even when I asked for extra flavor (to make up for the lost flavor, but nope, still weaker). I have so many pictures of my past drinks at Bomboba, and you can literally tell a visible difference in color. I had to stop getting those drinks but that didn’t stop me from coming until rude girl started working there and they did not get rid of her. The manager defending her was the final nail in coffin. I’ve worked customer service for many years, and I was never a Karen nor did I approach the cashier girl aggressively. Hope she’s doing better wherever she is now.
In the past, they were closed down for months for remodeling (kept pushing back reopen date, made some unnecessary trips). More than once, ive gotten there 30 minutes after their open time and was told it’d be another 30 minutes on boba.
The bomboba at tolleson had better customer service and drinks but I’m never around that area anymore.
I hope they’ve figured out a better rewards system with better employees. It would be pathetic if I tried them again years later and same bad experience.
You all have no idea how happy I was when boba became more popular, and we have all these amazing options for boba now. Bomboba used to be one of the...
Read moreMy family and I have gone to this Bomboba store for quite sometimes because we like the drinks here. We wish that the employees here were more mature, friendly, and respectful, and the prices for all items in the store were displayed clearly. The costs for any drinks in this place are already very high compared to other similar places. In addition to that, their hidden charges make the price for a drink much more expensive than food.
We ordered drinks listed on their menu for $5.95 each. However, they charged us $6.95 (before tax) for each drink without informing us the reason for the extra charges. There should not be hidden or unclear fees in this kind of business. If there are any additional fees, then the fees should be listed on the menu so that customers can see what they expect to be charged. Also, the cashiers should always give customers the itemized receipts so that they can see what they are charged.
Daytime employees in this place are very immature, careless, disrespectful, and unfriendly. A couple of nice gentlemen who work there at night time seem to be nice, but daytime workers’ attitudes are unacceptable. Smiles are very important in doing business. People go to food or drink stores with the purpose of hanging out with their significant others and enjoying a good time. Having to look at the grumpy faces of angry employees is very unattractive that affect people mood. This place needs more mature workers who care for the business and know how to talk, act, and treat customers nicely. Instead of hanging around chatting to each other or looking at their phones and busy with their text messages, these workers should clean up and organize the place when they are not busy...
Read moreI’m never coming back to this boba shop again. It used to be my favorite boba stop, for about 5 years. It has gone so far downhill since then.
First of all, they raised their prices. Now it is $7 for a drink, it used to be $5.45. They only have ONE size, which is large. The large size isn’t even a standard large. It can be considered a small or medium at other drink shops.
They used to do sealed lid drinks which is pretty standardized for boba shop. Now they give it to you in a basic plastic cup with a plastic lid that leaks everywhere. The worker gave me my drink with a handful of napkins because it was leaking everywhere when she gave it to me. I couldn’t put my straw into the drink because it leaked everywhere when i was simply just holding it.
The workers were really rude, they acted like we were stupid for asking pretty basic questions like if the drinks were non-dairy and where the napkins were.
My boyfriend got a Green Apple Redbull, in which the drink was 80% ice (as seen in attached photo), and he legitimately was finished with his drink in 20 seconds when he took two sips from it. $7 for two sips of drink, when we could have gone down the street and paid $3 for a red bull and some syrup and had a better experience.
Not only have the prices gone up, but the quality and service has fallen to unreasonably low standards. Find somewhere else to...
