We get delivery from them all the time. This time was no different. Ordered our food and they gave us an estimated time of 45 minutes to 1 hour. Except we got a call from Order To Eat Peoria asking for my card information again 45 minutes after originally placing our order with China Express. I asked who they were and why they needed my information again. They said China Express calls them when they don't have a delivery driver and that my card was declined. The gentleman who took my information the first time didn't type my number correctly. No big deal. Accidents happen. They inform me that it will be delivered within the time China Express said we would get it. Almost 2 hours go by and still no food. We call Order To Eat Peoria to see what is going on with our food. We call not once, not twice but 4 times and no one answers. The 5th time someone finally answers and saying it will be 15 minutes before we get our food. After already waiting almost 2 hours! They finally get to our house and hand us the receipt that has an additional charge from Order To Eat Peoria. No one from China Express told us that they would not be the ones delivering the food nor did they tell us the company they go through would, in addition to the tip we already gave, charge us more money for them delivering our food. We will never order food from them or Order To Eat...

Their General Tso's chicken = Among the worst General Tso's I've ever had. Honestly tastes like fried chicken with very very lightly spiced Ketchup... and my guess is that's exactly what it is to save $$$. Not even a hint of the peppers that are supposed to be in Gen Tso's, and absolutely no heat at all. If you got McNuggets from McDonald's and drenched them in Ketchup with a bit of sugar and soy sauce, you would be eating exactly what is in front of me right now taste-wise.
Specifically asked them to send plasticware since we are in a hotel: Only received 2 soup spoons... not a fork anywhere, let alone 2.
Even their fried chicken wings are bland and tasteless.
THeir pork fried rice is okay, and their wontons are okay... I'd give each of those two dishes a 3. Everything else would get 1 star if reviewed items separately.
Edited to add that the eggroll should also be 1 star (less if possible for 1 star is the minimum). AWFUL! How do you mess up...
Read moreChina Express uses the highest quality ingredients in Peoria. The beef and chicken actually look and taste like beef and chicken. The Honey Chicken was really good. The wontons were exactly what you'd expect. The eggfoo young was good, but different than anyplace I've been. Ithe gravy was unique but certainly fitting to the dish. The egg roll was a step above the other places in town. The Mongolian Beef was typical of take out places in town, merely adequate. The man who took my order was very helpful and friendly. The place was certainly the cleanest Chinese takeout I've ever been in. Orders moved at a quick pace and a lot of people were served in the time I was there. Nice folks, good...
