What does the Fox say? Arrroooooooo (in a British Accent)! What does that translate to? It’s a bit long-winded, so bear with me.
In a British accent “Hello, savvy reader. If you love some good British food and are in the central Illinois region, The Fox is right up your alley.”
“Their entire menu is British-themed and so is the pub. While the pub itself isn’t overloaded with British things, you can tell it’s got a British vibe while not being too gauche.”
“The food is delectable. Exquisite.”
“Mmmm, yes.”
Wow, the fox had a lot to say!
Do I agree with the Fox? Yes. My friends and I came here and loved every bit of it. The service was fantastic and the place felt welcoming and friendly. I ordered the Chipotle Beefeater Brisket and it was phenomenal. We sampled my friends Hummus and while I am not big on hummus, we all agreed it was great. Everyone gushed over how great their food was. Another perfect example that bar/pub food is the best food.
I sadly didn’t get a ton of photos as I was focused on hanging out with my friends. I will snap a few more the next time I go.
Be aware that if you do visit that they have Trivia on Thursdays nights. We tried to come here on one of those nights and it was packed and they suggested we come back another time due to it being too busy.
So if you need your Bangers and Mash or Fish and Chips fix and are in the Peoria area, this is the perfect...
Read moreThe Fox Pub has a small bar and a large eating area with a pleasant casual dining atmosphere and a delicious menu. The English-themed decor is charming, and everything in the restaurant seems clean. I wouldn't call it a sports bar from what I've seen, but sports fans can easily catch a game on one of the TV's from just about any of the tables. Trivia night on Thursdays has been popular every time I have gone, and is a fun way to spend the evening with friends. The wait staff is always friendly and polite. The menu consists of a variety of sandwiches (called "baps"--don't ask me how to pronounce that), burgers, wraps, and (I think) salads, plus a delicious fish and chips meal and some other English-themed foods. In all fairness, it's the only place I've had fish and chips, but I'm picky about my fries and I really liked theirs. The fish was light and fresh tasting, and the fries were thin and crispy. They also have sides like nachos (because why not?), very tiny portions of potato salad, and a deliciously cheesy tomato soup. If you haven't already guessed, I highly recommend the Fox Pub. Just make sure you check which days they're open before you come so you aren't...
Read moreMy first time dinning here. Loved how open and pub like it was inside. Decorated nicely. Be worth coming back just for the atmosphere. I was with 5 other people meeting for lunch. I had the tomato pepper soup. I don't normally like tomato soup, but this was like a bisque. Nice and creamy. The ingredients were blended pretty smooth. I'm used to pepper soup being more chunky, but my dish was ever so good. I finished the whole bowl with some crackers. Was very filling and tasty. Two of those with me ordered chilli. They complained that the chilli was only luke warm and sent them back by the waitress to be warmed up. When their chilli came back it was warmer, but they like their chilli piping hot. They ate it the way it was. Guess they liked it, since they ate all that was in their bowls. Don't recall any other complaints. Out waitress was very nice and attentive. We stayed a good hour and a half. Guess they were ready for us to leave, but they made us feel at home. I would definitely return and try some of the items on the menu. I was impressed 👍 Give them a try if you're out their way or just travel over and see...
