I've gone to the downtown Phx location several times, so I was excited to come here. I brought my mom, who is 100% Japanese, and she really didn't like it. The staff is super nice, but they are taking your plate as you're eating the last bite, annoying! And they leave the bill on the table before the meal is complete. I never felt rushed at the downtown location. The rice was off, and it tasted undercooked. The salmon sashimi was salty (without soy sauce), very odd. Do you salt the salmon? The caterpillar roll was meh! My mom loves unagi and couldn't taste the eel at all as there was only a super small piece in it. Sure, it's covered in eel sauce, but that's not the same. My mom got the eel bowl, and again super small pieces. The salmon was cut decent, but the sashimi salmon was salted. There are other sushi restaurants that give bigger pieces for sure and have better quality at the same price or cheaper. For 2 of us, 2 entrées (eel bowl & salmon plate) and a caterpillar roll and two waters, it was nearly $80. I might try this location one more time but leaning towards not going back to this location. I'll keep going to my favorite sushi joint in Peoria. I'm sure Harumi will stay busy cause it's hip and in a great location.

A Culinary Spectacle at Harumi Sushi & Sake - Peoria My friend and I, both captivated by the enchanting ambiance of Harumi Sushi & Sake in northern Peoria, had an unforgettable experience. The OMG Roll stole the show, a mesmerizing blend of sushi and BBQ, set aflame before us for a delightful Smokey flavor. The foil packet presentation added a theatrical touch, making our dining experience a feast for the senses. The servers at Harumi showcased their expertise, offering impeccable recommendations that elevated our culinary journey. The atmosphere was vibrant and energetic, complemented by great music that added to the overall enjoyment. Remarkably, the volume was just right—allowing us to engage in conversation without any strain. In summary, Harumi Sushi & Sake in Peoria is a gem. From the delectable cuisine to the entertaining presentation, it's a perfect blend of flavor and flair. We left with smiles, already planning our return to savor the culinary delights this establishment has to offer. I was on the hunt for good sushi, having just gotten back from Japan and missing good foods! Their downtown Phoenix location has a terrific reputation. My daughter viits Kodo in Scottsdale, same company... and loves em both. Beer wine and sake makes it easy, good sake selection by the way. I knew I was in the right place when they served me fresh grated wasabi! IYKYK! I started with the himachi crudo😋 You have to try their most popular roll, which is the one that they bake at the table in front of you. What I like the most is their rolls are very easy on the rice, and I think it was purple rice actually! The other roll was a yellow tail with mango. And habanero. Both were super delicious! Even their seaweed salad was pleasantly seasoned, not so soy. Nice to know they have noodles and the potstickers are not pork (8 to an order). There was a team service mentality among the staff. We sat on the patio, It's very casual. I gave the atmosphere 4 stars, because they could dress it up a little bit. But i'm looking forward to going back again and again.

TRUELY, UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING.

Harumi Sushi Sake’s second location in North Peoria was incredible. Before I start, make sure to add yourself on YELP waitlist bc the wait is LONG!!! Also, perhaps not good for larger parties and kids as the restaurant is on the smaller side and intimate cool feel.

REAL WASABI. Nuff said. When I first saw "fresh wasabi" on the menu I thought for a second if they meant fresh horse radish and was genuinely surprised to see the real wasabi on the plates when the food came out (and I may have finished them before the sushi :P).

Sushi and Sashimi were the most fresh ive had in the NATION. Speciality rolls were OFF THE CHART as well, and I really enjoyed the touch of purple rice on every dish. I do enjoy purple rice in general (just a little more variety in taste than regular jasmine rice) and Harumi succeeded in that but also made them soft and chewy, basically retaining all the good of purple rice but stealing some of the good of jasmine rice in as well. The sushi themselves were amazing as well, and both the portion and quality definitely left us very satisfied.

I also have to point out that with all those amazing elements the pricing of the menu was extremely good and pretty much COMPLETELY STANDS OUT from any other sushi restaurant. I would even go my way out and say that I would not have been surprised if the price was FIVE TIMES what was actually on the menu, which really goes to explain the wait times for the restaurant given the unbeatable value it's providing.

In conclusion, NUMBER 1 sushi in Phoenix, and perhaps number one value sushi that I've ever eaten. Definitely get your spot in the waitlist early on Yelp and then brace for the...

First, the servers were great. But there were tons of issues. We order Gyoza and 3 rolls. The gyoza showed up almost as soon as our waiter walked away. They were really good. Then we got our first roll a tad bit later. The roll was fried and it was super greasy, which I've never experienced with a fired sushi roll before. It would have been really good otherwise. We then sat there an waited. And waited. Then we got the bill. Told the poor kid we were still waiting on 2 rolls. So he went and checked on it. We finally got our second roll. It was good. Nothing really to write home about but also not bad. Then we waited and waited and waited. We never got our 3rd roll. We asked for it to be removed from our bill that we got a while ago and left. I don't know what the back of the house was doing but it was setting the waiters up for failure and I felt bad. They just had issue after issue they had to try to make excuses for that had nothing to do with them, and they handled it well. The issues weren't just with our table. They had to take a roll off the bill for the table next to use and I'm pretty sure there was an issue with the table...
