The pizza was good, The people were friendly. If I could base this visit on these details alone I would easily give 4 stars.
I would have to spend time there before I could ever rate 5,
I was in and out on a carry out.
Truly based on this visit I would rate 1 star, the reason being is as follows.
There was someone who wouldn't wait for me to get out of my car before they are asking me for change.
I told them im getting pizza and will see.
They decided that they would follow me into hoops while I paid.
Even when I told them about my wife and 1 year old baby at home, the one guy wouldn't quit hounding me for money. First he wanted change.
Then I told him about my baby and he had the audacity to say 5 dollars isn't anything.
I told him I would give him some change yet he still stalks me into the bar.
Then I gave him a dollar and some change, and he continues to ask me for some of my pizza. I give him a slice and his friend asked for a piece. I said no and he literally begged please please please.
I would like to say first off, I grew up never asking anyone for anything.
I wouldn't even want something for nothing from anyone.
2nd it is truly shameless to not only expect something from someone you don't know but to have total disregard to the fact that they tell you they have a baby to take care of at home.
We don't get any extra help from any friends or family. We wouldn't expect it. You know we didn't have a diaper party, or a baby shower when this one was born or after.
People need to get a little pride and have some respect.
I work hard for everything I have especially my money and I don't ask anyone for anything never have.
I would not recommend going here or returning because hoops has people who are begging me for the money that should have went into my babys piggy bank. Then turn around and ask for food that I had just bought for my family.
Unbelievable that someone could not even jave a shred of consideration when I tell them about my baby and ask me for more.
Trust me I wasn't scared and I will not be giving anyone a penny again except for my daughters piggy bank. It took everything I had to give this person a dollar. Which was originally for food then turned into 5 dollars is anything buy me a beer and some food after I say I have a baby to take care of.
Again I don't ask anyone for anything nor do I expect or even want something for nothing.
I would like to have some respect when I go out in public to spend some of my hard earned money and not be hounded for the change that belongs in my daughters piggy bank. Especially by people who don't care if I have a daughter to feed or not.
Bottom line unless they find away to remove people begging for money before I even get out of my car, I will not return nor will I suggest anyone else to return.
Final note if it wasn't for the pre mentioned issue. Hoops has good pizza and I seen friendly faces and courteous workers. And would get an easy 4 based on a carry out pizza if there wasn't disrespectful beggars who didn't give a care about the baby I told them I have at home, just hanging outside waiting to try to get money out of my daughters pocket.
Its crazy how people don't have anymore pride than to expect something for nothing especially from people out here on their own with a...

3 points for delicious pizza. Out of bounds for late night zaniness.
Hoops. Hoops is quite the odd place. It’s on Main Street in Peoria, so it’s easily accessible. They are open until 5:30am. They serve many types of liquor, beer and varieties of pizza. They have available space upstairs. The pizza itself is super delicious. Lots of positives and now, the negatives.
Do not come here after the sun goes down. Stuff gets weird. I’ve been here many times since turning 21 (back in 2008). There are cops always parked next to the building since there is always something going wrong in the general area at night. The clientele goes from business/normal people during the day to the odd ones at night.
This one time, a bunch of my friends and I were there and this lady stops by our table and is convinced my friend is her nephew. So she offers to buy us food and drinks and just continues to increase her creep level. Getting really close and touchy-feely. Creeped us all out to no end. We booked it to Richard’s as soon as she went to the bathroom. She makes an appearance in the slideshow below, if you are curious about her.
I just don’t know what it is about that location that does a 180 after the sun goes down. It’s a great ‘by the slice’ pizza place though. So if you go, make sure it’s for lunch or an early dinner. Unless you want a free show of something always...
Read moreBefore today, we’d enjoyed the service and especially the pizza. The bartender lady was not in the mood to answer questions for what would have been a pick up order. She said she was not going to argue w me after I’d asked what were the ingredients in a chef salad vs a house salad.(no argument in that) and she disconnected from the call. Once I arrived I ordered a medium pepperoni pizza and a salad-from the same lady…she never explained the difference in salads; didn’t want to list the dressings available, tossed the menu at me, walked behind me to wait other tables, walked behind the bar to serve beer to other patrons and while I stood there w my cc in hand she ignored me. The gentleman sitting beside where I stood stated she must be having a bad day. It was that obvious how ignorant she was behaving. I sat at the table across from the bar w my cc in hand and then laid it on the table and she didn’t acknowledge me. After thinking about the unwarranted disrespect and rude behavior, I politely left. If this is what you want representing what I understand is a staple in Peoria, I highly recommend training this one to be cognizant of customer service and work life balance. Otherwise this is...
