Kouri's Pub — Restaurant in Peoria

This was my first time eating at Kouri's Pub, I was meeting a couple friends there. My first thought was how cool this place looked. Absolutely love the indoor/ outdoor fire pit, all the seating and the fact that you could practically be outside and still be covered. I was really impressed with the whole layout of the restaurant on the outdoors. The inside was nice, though I thought it was quite dark and most of the lighting was kind of red tinted. I was surprised it was that dark for it being around 1:00 in the afternoon so I was glad that we chose to sit outside. I included some pictures of the inside and lighten them so you could see what the room looked like. There weren't many people there, 2 couples when we walked in and then three more sets of people came in after we ordered. There was still plenty of seating and it was a beautiful day! I ordered the chicken sandwich and my friends both ordered the chicken strip baskets. The sandwich meals only come with chips, if you want to get french fries it's a $4 upgrade. The chicken strips came with french fries so I just tasted a few of theirs. I don't really try to write negative reviews so I look at it as a way of helping. My honest review of the sandwich is good... it was tasty and not too chewy although lacking flavor. The chicken strips were actually a bit tough as if they were overcooked and also lacking flavor. Honestly, they tasted just a little bit scalded on the outside as if there wasn't enough breading so they tasted a bit rubbery. The french fries, also lacking flavor, I don't think they use any seasoning on them, I'd love to see some sort of a Cajun seasoning in the future, I think that would be really popular. All around I mean the meal was okay, the service was good but I think that adding some seasonings to the mix would definitely shake things up a bit. Again, I absolutely love the layout of the restaurant the whole outdoor seating is just absolutely beautiful so 10 stars on that one! Fix the flickering lights guys!!!

5 years ago I came her with my gf on our first date so we have been back solely for the sentimental value a handful of times over 5 years

Walk into the patio the fires lit, smells like 1000 citronella candles burning for some reason

So we opt for the dining room, the lights flicker so much it almost gives you a headache

Order 2 burgers and fries (fries are an upcharge) the food comes out with no seasoning at all. Not good at all especially for 15 collars for a single 1/3 lb burger and fries.

Bloody Mary was pretty good but was 6.50

They also sent the burger out with pickle took it back and after 5 long minutes it comes back still with pickle juice on it, the pickle touching stuff isn't a big deal but why did you keep it for 5 min? Gf could have flicked the pickles off herself instead of waiting.

20 bucks a person for mildly ok burger and ok fries and a single decent bloody Mary is terrible. This place clearly doesn't care about it's customers.

We decided to go in for lunch today. Big mistake! We were the only customers in the place other then a couple people gambling, it took 30 min to get our apps. An hour for our food. Waitress was nice but a little weird i think she said her name was Jody, telling us about her root canal. Asking us how much ibprofin she can take in an hour. Then while dropping our food off she told us she was going to go in the back and take more. It was all a little to TMI to talk to your customers about. Everytime i needed something i had to get up and go to the bar where she was standing because i couldnt get her attention. Needed napkins and i had to snag some cocktail napkins from the bar because the waitress and the bartender were MIA. And if your looking for good bar food this is not the place. We got the 1/2 lb burger and the tenderloin. Buns for both were hard as a rock. Burger was over done and dry. Tenderloin was very thin no flavor other then the taste of old grease.
