First & worst experience, will not be back. Waited 37 minutes in the drive through, and when I get up to the window to pay the lady says “you had kids meal?” I said uhh no.. She says “ok that lady must have drove off, ok what did you have?” I only remembered that I ordered a half a sandwich and soup but didn’t know the names because I don’t come to McAllisters, so I told her that I ordered a half sandwich and soup and she said “$15.52” I asked if it is usually around a 35+ minute wait as I don’t come here but want to know that way I can plan accordingly in the future since I’ve spent my entire lunch break and then some in their drive thru and she said “$15.52”. I then asked if they always charge full price after their customers wait almost 40 minutes with their cars idling for food, and she said “yes, $15.52.” So I handed her my card and let her know that I would like a receipt. I waited a few more minutes for my card to be brought back to me, as she brought it to the front of the restaurant to run it, and she did return a few minutes later with my card and receipt as well as my half sandwich, soup, and large iced tea (which the ice had almost completely melted in). I called after leaving the drive thru and pressed 3 to speak with a member of management and the same woman from the drive thru answered the call and immediately said “please hold” and put me on hold. She came back to the line and said “how can I help you” and before I could even say a word she hung up. Definitely not an experience that I would say is worth $15.52, and in the future I will not invest 40 minutes in their drive thru for that kind of service. My sandwich was lukewarm and my soup is a gelatinous coagulated consistency- Would not recommend.

McAllisters: I know that this review will probably get the same canned-air response that you comment on every poor review, so please don’t feel the need to...

I've always enjoyed McAlisters but this visit was not good at all. First, I pulled into the drive thru to order to only find out that it has been changed to a pickup window only. There were no signs for that at all until you pulled all the way in. So I had to drive around and go inside to order. Then I ordered off the menu which were plentiful on the counter. It said all sandwiches came with a side. The sides said they were included with a sandwich. No prices were included, no mention of an upcharge. I ordered a wrap and a side of mac & cheese. As I was waiting I checked my receipt because it seemed jigher than anticipated and there was a $3.29 charge for the mac & cheese. When I nicely questioned the cashier about it, she got someone from the kitchen with a "don't challenge me" attitude. When I asked very nicely why I was charged when the menus clearly said the side was included, I was told I needed to look at a chalkboard sign on the side of the beverage dispenser that listed the sides with an upcharge for several sides. What?!! Why would I look there when I had an official menu right in front of me?! The cashier also never informed me of the upcharge either which is not cool. It was a to go order so I took it home and wasn't going to say anything until I opened my $3.29 side and it wasn't even a third of the way full. That was the last straw. It takes alot to make me feel the need to give a bad review, but this was alot. I truly hope others have a...

The food is great here. I just tried the SpudMax today. It was fantastic. So much deliciousness in such a ginormous potato!!! The sweet tea is deliciously sweet as well. I usually do a half sweet and half unsweetened. The pickle spear with the sandwiches is a must. The only reason for docking a star is the obnoxious wait time when ordering at the drive through. I understand the food is made fresh, but you typically expect expedited service at a restaurant that has a drive through option.
