Ono Hawaiian BBQ — Restaurant in Peoria

I paid for 4 scoops of their mac and cheese and they were so stingy it was barely 2 scoops and it costs almost as much as a plate.

Why I keep going to this location, I don't know. It's the most convenient, but not worth it. I called in an order and was very clear and the lady repeated it back correctly and it was correct on the receipt. I double checked the order before leaving and instead of extra mac in place of rice, they had made the plate regular. I told the woman, and she wanted to take the plate back to correct it and I asked of she could just put it on the side and she walked away with my plate. She comes back and it's still wrong. She removed all the veggies. I told her I still wanted veggies. Then she began arguing with me that when it's all mac they don't give veggies, but I tried to explain that we went through it when I called in the order that I wanted veggies and mac in place of rice. She proceeded to argue again until she finally accepted giving the veggies. And I asked her again can she just put it on the side. It makes no difference for them, but with COVID I don't think it's right for them to continually breathe all over the food and take it and put it back in over and over again. And she's just cashier not the cook. It increases the risk so much more and it's unsanitary. But she argued again that she had to put it in the plate. So she took it with her and added in the veggies under the chicken. She gave me back the plate dirty on the outside with sauce. And walked awat, not acknowledging me. I asked for a napkin to clean the box which another worker had to go get her attention for. When I called back to speak to a manager she knew it was me and would not let it go. She kept asking for my name, if it was a to go order, and then finally asked if it was me. How convenient the manager...

This business has lost my business ! I was a loyal customer untill today. I am very disappointed I wasted my hardworking money here. I ordered two plates and a side of macaroni. Since, 7pm today I have been severely sick with food poisoning.. I have been throwing up the food that I ate at this location. I knew half way in eating my plate that it didn’t taste right and something was off by its taste. And I had a gut feeling to stop eating and to throw it away. I could only put down half of the plate I couldn’t even eat the best part which was the Marconi. Even that didn’t taste right. I want management contacting me back as soon as possible because this isn’t right to sell contaminated food to their loyal consumers. I want this corrected because my whole faith in this company has crumpled... especially when your trusting them to feed...

The 5-star came from the money for value in comparison other restaurants with similar price range. The nordic style interior design offers a fresh dinning experience in a traditional Hawaiian style fast food chain. The meats are fresh and tender. Highly recommend the island fire chicken for those who can handle and enjoy mild spicy. My favorite is the classical Hawaiian BBQ chicken. Its seasoning is just a good balance between sweet and salty. Their rice and macaroni cheese are tasty carbs to fill your hunger quickly. Half-opened kitchen like many other Hawaiian style restaurants keep the food preparer under unseen scrutiny as always. The only meal we tried not worth to recommend is the Spam Musuibi because the rice is kinda loose and the source is too much. Overall, it beats Panda...
