Overall, the final price was not worth the disrespect, prices, extra charges, or the missing “fresh basil”. We think the fried pickles were good, the food tasted ok, the waitress was disrespectful and a little slow, leaving me feeling lied to, cheated, gouged, and slightly gaslit.
The waitress told us the seasoning that looked like oregano on our pizza was the “fresh basil” we asked to have as a SUBSTITUTION for the mushrooms (allergy) on our pizza and then when we asked her about it she told us they don’t have fresh basil (not that they were out of it, but they just don’t have it), but it is clearly listed on the physical menu, online menu, AND has a picture of it on their website homepage (see pictures). I believe she either forgot to add it and lied to my face, or probably charged us to ADD the basil instead of a SUBSTITUTION for it and the kitchen missed it. If I could not substitute, she should have said she that in the first place instead of telling us it could be done and then charging us for it. I even looked all over the menu for the “no substitutions” label before I requested it and I didn’t see anything. Also, it would be nice for the waitress to mention we would be charged for a single side of sauce too. The issue is not that we were charged, but more the fact she did not mention the extra charge and we were unaware of it. I didn’t see any sauce prices, or “add sauce for…$” anywhere, but not every restaurant charges for every side of sauce so I was not expecting the charge.
We paid with a card so the prices were a little bit more expensive than with cash. The total bill was about $65 for a couple happy hour Coors Light draft, one HH well vodka+cran, a HH fried pickles($8), a “daily special” boneless wings+fries meal($10), and an (incorrect) 18” pizza($23), and one side of sauce($1). That’s about $42-43 for food and about $20-25 for the couple of happy drafts and a vodka+Cran (unless I was charged the $2 to substitute for the “fresh basil” that I never got).
Ive been here a couple times before, but I’m not planning to return again...
Read moreWe’ve driven by so many time and never stopped? I’m now asking myself why. We’ve been to all other spots near it. I Assumed it was more of a bar than restaurant because from out front it looks so small compared to all the places around it and well it says saloon Ha. Yeah, yeah o should’ve done by Yelp research. I’ll be better; scouts honor. We had a hard time finding somewhere to park. Area is packed, but we finally found one and went inside. It was actually so nice onside. Full bar, booths as well as high tops. Sears were comfy. Our waitress came over quickly, was so friendly and took our drink order. I was instantly bummed when I was told they carry no sour beers on tap or canned. Next I asked about ciders which is my close second. I was then told they only offer Angry Orchard in a bottle so I settled. Bummer. We ordered a different beer on tap as well and she gave us some time to look over the menu. I knew fairly quick I’d have the Chicago dog. I had been craving one and hadn’t had one in forever. I opted for side salad instead of fries. I’m glad I did and I’ll explain later. My husband ordered an Italian beef with fries. Our drinks came out soon with some ice water as well. They were fairly busy but we still had our food pretty quick. Everything looked delicious except the fries. At first I thought they were sweet potato fries but nope they just were maybe cooked in old oil? I dont know, but they weren’t very good according to my husband. I agree as I tried one. The sandwich, hot dog and salad were delicious. Lettuce crispy, toppings good and my Chicago dog so many toppings. Yum. I asked for another angry orchard and she unfortunately came back to let me know it was the last one. Our server stated not many people order it so they don’t carry a huge stock. That stinks for those of us who hate typically beer or expensive mixed drinks. I wish they’d at least add a sour or something on tap because I’d really like to come here more often....
Read moreTonight was my first time coming to this bar and it will be my last. The food was great, our server was training but she was decent too. I was not impressed by the management on duty. My fiancee and I sat at one of the tables right next to the bar and the server POS system. My significant other was served beer in a glass that was cracked about 1" through and through. When I brought it to our servers attention she promptly took the glass and showed the glass to the manager, I was told her name was Lacey. The manager then took the glass, went behind the bar and poured the beer directly from the broken glass to another and served it back to us. When the server brought us the beer I explained that we weren't accepting the beer because of what I saw. We were poured a new one and Lacey came to talk to us and when I expressed my concern about serving beer that had been in a broken glass she advised me that that's "what they usually do, but that she could get us a new one". I've been in the restaurant industry for 15 years and can tell you that serving something that potentially has glass in it should not be standard procedure. The same manager seemed to not have a problem sitting and chatting with some regular customers sitting caddy corner from us and giving them free shots for their birthday but couldn't even be bothered to take the beer off our tab or even offer any sort of apology or incentive to come back after a bad experience. Broken glass is a big deal and should be...
