I really thought it would have been better...Get SMALLER plates- I just remembered how ridiculous the plates were. If your serving two smal eggs on english muffins, you don't need a 12 in plate. If you need a second plate at the table, you don't need an 18 in plate! 😅🤣we are not dumb, we know we are paying $18+ for our mea to try it out, you don't need us to feel like we're getting more by giving us a larger plate. The food looks like a tiny any on the plate, so either fill up the plate with food withnetter tasting food, or down size the plates and lower the prices...the poor dishwasher person in the back..
It has a great building, modern and fun feeling. The music was so loud I felt like I was yelling across my 2 foot table. The menu looks like it's fun, clearly defined choices which was nice.
We tried one of the eggs benedict 😮💨 it was really boring. Pictures online looked great, and like it would taste great and super yummy, but it was boring and with a little bowl of sautéed potatoes to the side like in an I Hop or Denny's restaurant. The potatoes were the best part of the meal, although I could taste them 2 hours later in my mouth still 🤦♀️. The eggs benedict were ehh, they were fine I guess...
The hash with smoked brisket 😔 it had no flavor.. it was weirdly really sweet, but in an unpleasant way. There were so many gross large pieces of fat and what felt like uncooked meat, but was probably just fat? 🤢 I spit out several bites of food, how embarrassing...
The onion rings were ok, they were super thick and that wasn't pleasant. The outer coating was crunchy then you continue biting and it was mushy, then you get to the onion that was soft and end up pulling it out and - ... I'll stop there.
I'm really surprised that potatoes and poached eggs are $18- $20+ dishes, seriously?? I review restaurants, but only reccomend ones that a normal person couldn't make the same food at home themselves...and I'm sorry, this didn't pass the 'I'd rather eat out here than make it at home' test.
Waitress was really friendly, and answered all of our questions. I'd come back and try it one more time, so we'll see. If the other food is better I'll update...
Read moreI have eaten at other Hash Kitchen locations so I was all in for trying this location due to positive experiences in the past. I was wrong. So so wrong.
First, the service was slooooooooow. While the waitress was sweet and friendly, it was like searching for Sasquatch to even find her at any point. We had come in at the end of the brunch rush and the place was clearing out so it made zero sense that our food took forever and that a table who ordered after us got their food first.
Second, our kiddo’s food came out with our “starter” of billionaires bacon. It was more like the dollar store version of whatever it was supposed to be. And cold. At this point , the floor manager came by and showed how clueless management must be to issues. He had no qualms about the fact that 2/3rds of our table had no entrees and we had empty ice tea glasses. Refills were not offered at any point, we always had to ask. It felt a bit like Oliver Twist “please may I have some more” on a drink that comes with free refills.
After waiting another 20 minutes for our food, our kiddo had finished her meal and our ear drums were ringing from the DJ that clearly had mistaken Sunday afternoon for an Old Town Scottsdale Saturday night. When our food arrived, it was just okay and everything was bland. Maybe they had run out of salt in the kitchen? Oh, and it was cold. Like it had been under the heat lamp for a bit. My chicken was way overdone and dry. The only thing that I feel positive about was the gluten free waffle. It was decent- and a lot of gluten free options are terrible.
When it came time to pay, the waitress put the check next to our kid and out of reach of the adults. Odd choice since she is 9 and clearly wasn’t paying. Then, it took forever for the waitress to come back and collect payment. It was almost like they knew we probably shouldn’t pay for such a terrible experience.
I have apologized profusely to my family for my recommendation. I won’t visit this location again. Nor do I recommend anyone unless you’re there...
Read moreHash Kitchen is one of my go-to brunch spots and I almost exclusively eat at the Chandler location. This time for girls day we decided to go to the Arrowhead location because of proximity.
What I like about this location is that it didn't feel cramped or crowded and while they had a DJ, I could hear without screaming to be heard, which allowed for conversation with everyone at the table. Parking is a little scarce if you want to be right in front of the place so be prepared to walk or just Uber or get dropped off.
We arrived at 9:45 because we were unable to get on the waitlist 2 hours before our planned arrival time of 10am. We were told it was a 35 minute wait. Despite having 3 of the 4 in our party at the restaurant, we were told we couldn't be seated until everyone had arrived and ended up being sat at 11:20am. (We were told this was by policy but I've shown up with parties of 8 and had people show up with only half the party there, but maybe this differs by location or is new).
We elected to stay because none of us drove and e didn't want to leave while we had someone en route.
After we got sat, we were served quickly and ordered our mimosas. I have become known for getting the Mega Glitter Bomb Mimosa because it basically the same amount of liquid as a flight BUT you get glittery cotton candy, a pinwheel (to add to my crown I'm making) and a comically large glass! I recommend the Peach as the flavor of choice. They do allow you to pour your own drink so whatever happens, happens.
This was my first time trying the Potato Tacos! They are 4 deep fried tacos made with mashed potatoes and severed with your choice of eggs! Top notch! The only thing it needs is a little hot sauce for spice and it is perfect!
And you can't go wrong with a cannoli or a donut so having them in one is a no brainer.
All in all, it was a decent experience. Not sure the next time I will be back but I did enjoy myself and the music...
