This is possible the greatest DQ in existence. I travel. A LOT. DQ is a frequent guilty pleasure when I'm on the road. I've been to good ones and bad ones and clean ones and filthy ones (yes, there are some). This one is the best I've ever been to, period. They DON'T take credit cards, and have one if those signs that says, "In order to keep prices down, we do not accept credit cards." Upon seeing this, I scoffed, thinking, "Yeah, right! Let's see these low prices!" I don't think I ever really understood that "scoffed" meant until reading that sign. My modern, American cynical nature grabbed me and squoze the scoff right out of me! I pulled up to the drive-thru speaker, placed my order, and they told me how much it was. I choked a bit, and asked them to repeat the price. They did... I don't think I ever really understood what "eating your words" meant until hearing that price. I swallowed my whole cynical sentence, even though it had only been said to myself in my internal monologue. It did not taste good. Luckily, my treat from this DQ was wonderful. It washed the bitterness residue from my acerbic words right off of my tongue, leaving only the taste of sweet dreams and heavey treats! It was served by some beautiful, young, wholesome Michigan girl with a friendly disposition and a kind smile. It was like a scene from a movie... Or, in this modern age, from an episode of THE TWILIGHT ZONE. I kept waiting for the psychotic serial killer to rise up in my back seat with an axe it was so surreally pleasant. Like that scene from the end of a horror film where birds are chirping, the heroine has survived and is back to her peaceful, bucolic life, but then Jason shows up with a cleaver! That is how good this DQ is. It conjures horror films and Unicorn fantasies all in one delightful two minute experience that always ends with a rainbow of flavor! I've been back several times since, always with a terrific experience. I've learned to stop eating my words-the soft serve is better without them! Thank you, Ludington, MI DQ. You...

Read moreFair prices, Excellent-Respectful staff, but, I would love a Full Size DQ... however, being a Native to the area for more than 4 decades, I understand Why they are seasonal. This Past Summer, they were open longer, as summer was here longer. The owner is local-ish, and a good person who will help out people in many ways, and Never seeks "credit" for that help. Locals have the idea that "only pretty young girls are hired" ... that, is not how it is. He hires from the church, younger folks, who are missionaries, quite often. He is helping in the Building a group of Amazing young people,...
