I waited to review after trying it for a second time and my intention is not to be critical but to offer my own experience and opinion. My first experience I got a half chicken, pit-tatoes, and a couple different wraps to try. The chicken was decent but a little dry, but good smoked flavor, the mini potatoes were good, and the wraps were kind of lacking in flavor along with a simple tortilla did not care for the slaw at all. My second time I stopped for my lunch break and ordered the "cluck-n-pits" which the presentation left a lot to be desired. I felt the price point was high considering it was $7 and it looked to be about $3-4 worth of food.(I do not know the costs of ingredients) It came in a small styrofoam container with some small potatoes topped with a little bit of pulled chicken in a sauce that I did not really care for, along with cheese and sour cream. I also got a side of cornbread and a soda. After a $1 tip just over $10 and I still felt hungry. This was just my personal experience and opinion. I do applaud the owners for bringing something unique to the Ludington area and wish them best of luck, I would still suggest trying them out at least once to gauge your own experience.
edit Fast forward a few years. I've frequented this food truck and their new location downtown many times now. I am pleased to say they have grown to be a fantastic addition to Ludington. Their menu always has something new and fun, and although my first impressions weren't the greatest a few years ago (it was an honest review) i have had many tasty treats here. The pretzels and beer cheese are a must have! Not only do they serve good food but they also are very active in the community and this is...
Read moreThe service was great and the food came out quick. My wife had the pretzel explosion and I had a pulled chicken sandwich and soft pretzel. The food was outstanding minus the soft pretzel not being what I expect as a soft pretzel. The pretzel was good on the explosion First it had butter on it to hold the salt. I don't eat butter and don't expect it on my pretzel. My fault for not reading the menu. I saw soft pretzel and just ordered it. The salt was fine like table salt. It was not the nice coarse salt thatis usually used. The outside didn't have the nice dark crust you get get when using a lye or soda solution. I didn't get that malty taste from it either. It was like eating a slightly chewy bread in the shape of pretzel. Will I be back for other food, most definitely. I definitely recommend them, but if you want an authentic soft pretzel just know that their...
Read moreI encourage everyone who enjoys the best Pit chicken in town to not miss this business. It's a right turn off from the road past the car wash just before Dairy Queen. Very clean area and clean business. Friendly faces and hands down best food on any day. This was my first visit and ordered the half chicken with the sides and a medium bucket with pulled chicken. Easy to eat for those who don't like the bones. Cornbread is a delight and so moist. Pit_tatos are made to perfection. They do a great job packaging it up for you, too! If you don't feel like cooking and want something made with Love like you would at your own home, go check it out! For the price and a well fed family, you'll have a smile on your face for the rest of the day. I know...
