I called Walgreens pharmacy to refill a prescription. I was told I was third in line while I was on hold. Then I was second. I was told there was one person ahead of me. I waited 33 minutes on the phone to reach the pharmacy. Then they hung up on me after I waited all this time. I called them back and ask for the store manager. Again I was just connected from Walgreens. I made the third call and finally talk to the store manager. He said his pharmacy is up in business by 25%. There was nothing he could do because of budget has not caught up with the volume in his pharmacy department. he never addressed the length of a phone call. All he told me there was nothing he could do. This is not the first time I had an issue with Walgreens. But I really like the staff always friendly I saw. They had to check with insurance ( never had a problem before)then they had it, then they didn’t, couldn’t find my order, finally found it when I talked to them again with specific dates. By now 2 weeks later, I was told it would be ready the following morning. I’m happy it wasn’t emergent. It’s an as necessary med, they called 30 days later said my refill was ready. I called and told them it wasn’t needed yet, she said she would take care of it. Another call today ( 2 days later) saying it was ready. Read moreThere seems to be enough staff in the pharmacy, it is such a busy store, it seems like they can't keep. I agree that it will, on the average, take one to five hours for your RXs. They don't answer the phone but I don't understand why? I was in recently counted 8 employees just in the pharmacy. And it still took an hour while I was standing there. Why?? What is the answer? My suggestion would be to assign one person for the phone, one person to help answer questions, NO Other Purchases except RXs at the registers. Talk to the certain person about their attitude and remind them they are there to HELP PEOPLE and not to prove THAT THEY ARE RIGHT.
