First time visiting with family at this restaurant. Didnât know what to expect but walking in and seeing how clean and well dressed the staff was I was impressed. We ordered half dozen regular oysters and half dozen prepared oysters as an appetizer. For our meals we ordered the Chile relleono plate, Tierra y Mar, Carne asada fries, Tacos de Papa plate, Queso Birria tacos plate with consume. The food was very good without a doubt. My complaint on the service was that although pleasant staff they fell short. I asked for extra salsa and chips twice as we waited and it never came. Our food started to come out and I addressed a different server about the chips and salsa and he apologized and brought it quickly. Our appetizer came after three main dishes were served. I expect the appetizer to come before our meal then for the main course to follow. All plates came at different times and one plate almost never came at all because for some reason it was forgotten. As I finally enjoyed the appetizer my meal was getting cold. The day was warm and the back room that we sat in had 4 ceiling fans that were not working. The waitress couldnât turn them on and the wall A/C unit wasnât cooling enough. The flies were annoying. They have automatic sliding doors without overhead fly retardants so they came in as they pleased. Having to wave your hands over your plate as you eat isnât enjoyable. I also had to find salt and pepper on another table outside because none were available. We were never checked to see if we wanted anything like refills or extra napkins. Iâm assuming that the waitress was new considering we had questions on the food when ordering and she didnât know or didnât go to ask then come with the answer. A little training will definitely go a long way. I will give a second chance only because the food was good but if the service, the flies and the timing of when the appetizer comes out doesnât improve I will have to pass. When I go out to dine with my family I expect to enjoy the whole experience. Thatâs the whole purpose of eating out in stead of cooking at home. This rating could have been a 5. I will update next time I visit and hope these minor changes have...
Read moreUnfortunate to feel like I need to leave a review. We came around brunch time today to get some food. We had been here before and had the mole chile quiles with steak. It is pretty expensive since the steak is a $15 add on charge but thatâs okay because it was good. We had a conversation with the waitress (who was in training) and her manager about how we had the mole before and wanted to try either the red or green sauce. They said the red was spicier so we asked for the red. The food came out and after trying it we noticed it was the mole. I went in to tell them and the manager said she wrote down M for mole so thatâs what you ordered. Whatever, we both worked in food industry so we werenât going to make a big fuss about it. After we finished, I was paying and asked the manager âdonât you remember the conversation about how we tried the mole and asked for your recommendation on the red or green?â Her answer was âwell your girlfriend said mole since thatâs what was written down.â Bummer, we liked this place and live down the street so probably would have gone often. We didnât even ask for anything but it would have been decent if they could have at least admitted the mistake. We still tipped well for the new server who was being trained, hopefully she gets the full tip and none of it goes to that manager girl.
Replying - Yeah we tried the plate and then realized it was mole, yes we were sharing but it seems like you think we wanted a free extra plate or something which isnât true. Itâs all good just weird that you guys wonât admit a mistake so I...
Read moreA new name and probably new ownership, this place got a nice make up and has the potential to be a trendy and popular place. We sat in the outdoor patio and went unoticed for a few minutes, when we finally got service, our waiter was a bit rooky and unprofessional, from the customer service And financial perspective, we could have consumed a few more drinks before eating, however, we were unattended quite often. Maybe it's too soon, but the place was empty, except for my table and one more inside. Hopefully the owners take notice and make some intelligent choices to make La Finca "THE...
