Curly's Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Perry Township

I was recommended to try this place because I was told the food was very good. My first impression was not that great as the person that took my order was very rude. When asking questions, she kept rolling her eyes and tossing things around like I was taking up her time. Now let me be honest, if they were busy I would understand, but my husband and I were the only people in the restaurant at the time. Of course when you at a new restaurant you are going to have questions about the menu, but I have never been made to feel like I was an inconvenience by asking questions about the food. I proceeded to order an Italian sub with NO onions, add pepperoni, I’m guessing customizing subs is something they don’t like because she starts rolling her eyes and huffing as I’m saying it. After I pay and wait for my food, I get my food and not only does it have onions but it also does not have pepperoni on it. Again, if they would have been busy, maybe it would have been understandable, but, as I said, my husband and I were the only people in the restaurant at the time. Now that on to how it tastes, I would love to say it tastes good, but all I could taste was the Italian dressing because there was so much of it on the sub, now I know it’s an Italian sub and it’s supposed to have Italian dressing on it, but there was so much it was dripping off and down my hands and arms while I ate it. My husband got the chicken bacon ranch sub and the bacon tasted like bagged bacon that had been sitting, the chicken tasted like canned tin chicken and it just wasn’t good either. All in all, between the rudeness and the food not being done right and not being good I would not ever go there again.

I would just like to say that I am APPALLED by the response of the owner to my honest review. I reviewed the food, I didn’t mention a drink, I didn’t mention anything else. In a side note good sir, you weren’t even there, so I would like to know how you would even know what was ordered first of all, second of all, my husband doesn’t fat shame me, NEVER would, and with you not being there, how would you even know. Ordered an 18" half Hawaiian and the other half meat lovers and it was super delicious. The store was well kept,and clean, the lady on the phone who took our order was kind and patient through the whole process which made it easy. I had my 3 year old with me when we went to pick up our order and he took off running and ran behind the counter, I got him and apologized for it. I went behind to grab my son and the guy offered my son some Candy and said it's no problem at all said he had kids too. Thought how he handled that little situation was genuine. Tiny things like that have a huge impact on something as simple as where to grab a bite to eat for our family. Food could've been the best we've ever tasted but if he had chose to be rude or had gotten visibly upset, that definitely would've been our first and last time ordering from there regardless of how good or how bad it was. Also had to try a piece of their homemade chocolate cake because of how amazingly delicious it looked , and it didn't disappoint !!on a scale from 1-10 it was a 13 for sure! Ordered Curlys a few weeks back to give it a try and was impressed with how good it was. They did not have a white pizza on the menu, but we're able to make it for us. We tried the salad (they forgot the ranch), breadsticks, 2 pizzas, and both kinds of cake. Overall, I would get this again. The chocolate and the vanilla cakes were so good and were very clearly homemade.

It was on the pricey side and one thing that makes me want to almost take another star away was the inability to not tip for a pick up order. I dropped cash in the tip jar and then my husband paid with card and it gave him no other option but to tip at least 15%. When we get this again, we would pay cash because we essentially tipped twice ($20+) because when we selected no tip on the screen reader, it took us to a tip screen where we couldn't back out.

We did not eat in and when you pick up your food to take it home, you should be able to tip at your discretion and not forced into.
