Had a great afternoon out in Petaluma and went to Volpi’s Italian Restaurant to enjoy their classic Italian cuisine in a setting full of local history and has been in the family for 100 years. Service was efficient.
We often start with Deep Fried Calamari when we go out. Volpi’s calamari does not disappoint. Classically made it is fresh and with a great texture. Tried and true dipping sauces accompany this appetizer.
My husband and I shared a Caesar salad with anchovies. I mean when in Rome or at least Petaluma, you gotta to try and live the full experience, right? Again, Volpi’s got it right!
For our entrees we had the Veal Saltimbocca and my husband was smiling throughout all his bites. It was jump in his mouth good.

Given my 55 years of experience with Italian food in Chicago, I really should have known better and ordered the classic spaghetti and meatballs to gauge the kitchen's true capabilities. A...
