Everything looked so good! I got it all and I’m glad I did! I was drawn in by their *special* brisket chili! Amazing for a cold winter day! Layers of flavor with melt in your mouth brisket! As I was waiting for my family to come home to eat, I snacked and took a bite of each dish! I’m normally not a fan of smoked turkey… this was the exception. Flavorful moist and well seasoned. The Mac was creamy and the greens hit the spot. Don’t forget the sausage: just the right amount of heat. Rico was a pleasure and I’ll definitely be back again. 100% recommend. Def give this place a try! Great portions. Great prices and exceptional service. I just had to give them their flowers!

After reading reviews I had to try last week and I was not disappointed. We got a half pound each of baby back ribs, chopped bbq, and brisket plus 2 containers of the collards. All the meat was great though the brisket was a tiny bit saltier than I like on the yummy charred pieces but I’ve cut way back on my salt since a TIA in Jan. My husband thought it was excellent. But now listen to this 79yr old: get some collards!!! Yes, they cost $4 for a small container but they are organic and out of this world perfection. You know someone from the south cooked these babies: meat flavor and just the right bit of kick. I’d buy by the quart if I could!

I was browsing restaurants close to my home and for the first time ever this one popped up. It’s less than half a mile from my house. It’s in a food trailer park that I did not know existed. It was one of about four trailers. It was two in the afternoon, scorching hot, but I was hungry. I ordered the brisket sliders and macaroni and cheese. I sat at the picnic table under the easy up next to a set of dominoes, listening to late 60s and early 70s soul music. I was pretty sure the barbecue was gonna be good. It was excellent! I’LL BE BACK 😘

I ordered from DSBBQ today for the first time. And WOW… This is the best BBQ I have had in a very long time. I simply can’t believe how good this place is…. and even better, it appears to be family owned and operated (support local biz!!!). This place blows 95% of the trendy BBQ spots downtown out of the water— it’s not even close. Finally I have found a place with FLAVOR. All the other spots in town need to TAKE NOTES. DSBBQ serves very high quality, seasoned, flavorful meat (I had the brisket)… I also tried the Mac n cheese and it was INCREDIBLE with a unique smoky flavor. Last thing I tried was the potato salad and it was very fresh— no complaints. I have not been this excited about a meal in long time. Next time I order here, I’d like to try the other side items + maybe dessert if they are serving it.

You take one look at the menu and you know they are not messin’ around. Oxtail? Mac n cheese? Smoked...

Hate to leave a bad review since this seems like a locally owned business, but the food was really, really, sub-par. The brisket had a really strong odor as if some liquid smoke/artificial smoke had been used. It was dense and chewy and seemed like low quality meat. The Mac and cheese had little to no actual cheese and was soaked in grease, like maybe BBQ drippings (sounds like it could be tasty, but it had hardly any flavor). Worst of all was the "queso". This was definitely cheap, canned, maybe not even ballpark quality nacho cheese. I would be embarrassed to call this "queso" and bring it to a potluck. Thoroughly embarrassed. It had no flavor, no cheese or veggie chunks, and was the bright color and thin consistency of fake cheese. I get that you have to make a dollar, but serving up this kind of food quality in a city like Austin...

My husband woke up wanting barbecue and our goal this year is to always try a new place (when we can). And let me tell you, Deep South BBQ did NOT disappoint. We asked the gent who took our order for his favorite and he recommended the Rico, and while my husband’s heart was set on brisket, he wanted recommendations for the sides - mac & cheese & corn on the cobb. THEY WERE ALL SO GOOD.

Idk what they do to the corn but it was fantastic. Their brisket was sooooo tender (literally falling apart) and delicious. Their Mac and cheese was amazing (and I don’t usually care for baked m&c - yeah, yeah, I know) and the Rico? HUGE.

I will be bringing any out of town friends and family here if they even whisper “BBQ”.

Also had every intention of taking pictures but once we tried it,...
