This would be one of those restaurants that I would completely missed when I pass by that block. It is quite small and not located in a big plaza. Don’t expect there will be plenty of parking spot because they don’t. Spots are actually very limited.
I ordered two of their ramen: Black garlic and Tonkatsu. They were on average. Soup base was not too bad but the ramen is bit the authentic Japanese ramen noodle. That bowl of ramen probably would have taste a bit different if they use the real kind of ramen. Their Korean bulgogi beef rice was something I would reorder. It comes with plenty of bulgogi, a side of kimchi and also salad with a dressing that I like. I also tried their steamed pork bun. It was not bad, quite juicy and flavorful. The amount of sauce was on point.
The lady is the only person I saw in there, running as a cashier and a waitress. But the place wasn’t that big and not much tables were seated when I was there, she was able to manage and provide my family and I a friendly service. She checked with us a few times in case we needed something.
Tbh, if this place is located at another location, maybe a bit more people would notice and want to try. Just by looking at the outside, I don’t know if many others would want to go in for their food and willing to return...
Read moreI recently ate here on Saturday. This restaurant was my second option because I was running too late to my first. When I tell yall I'm so happy it turned out this way!! I took my nephew who loves ramen.
Food: I eat at a lot of asian restaurants (Japanese, Chinese, Korean). THIS EASILY IS ONE OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN THE CITY. Asian food or not. Very fresh, very clean. And surprisingly extremely affordable. We ordered 1 hibachi meal, 2 ramen (one with (2) extra toppings), 6 soft drinks, 3 appetizers PLUS 20% tip all came to $100!!! My nephew completely ate every bite of his ramen plus broth, which was why we came to this restaurant. There were NO leftovers as it was absolutely delicious and I WILL return.
Service: Only one woman who I didnt catch name but the receipt said "BOSS" and even though I was skeptical at first she is very prompt and was pleasant to be around. I was very happy to leave a large tip and I highly encourage it for others to do so as well. She is obviously very hard-working.
Atmosphere: Its small but you can tell a lot of the decorations were made by (i believe) the daughters of the owners. It was very homely, cozy, and very cute decorations.
Overall 5/5 I highly recommend every...
Read morePrices were nice, good quantity of food for the hibachi dishes, less so for the appetizers but that's to be expected in 2022. Taste was better than other Philly ramen shops, and I didn't even get a spicy one (was sharing with family). I had the Tonkotsu Ramen - came with a nice amount of things added.
The soup was actually nice and hot unlike a certain other Northeast Philadelphia ramen restaurant, and they gave a fair amount of broth. The hibachi was nice and tender - the chicken, steak, and shrimp are all quite good and up there with the best hibachi restaurants.
The dipping sauces for the appetizers were a unique sweet and spicy style that wasn't a traditional sweet chili sauce that you'd find, and the tempura sauce wasn't as salty. I'm pretty sure this restaurant is making some of their sauces in-house, or they're at least picking some more unique sauces that are nicely balanced.
The service was very nice, lovely, and the atmosphere, cleanliness, and lighting in the restaurant is great as well. It's festive this time of year.
I like food that's a bit aggressively seasoned, and this was like 90% there - I'd probably just ask for some heat next time...
