Went into this restaurant with high expectations and even higher recommendations. Easily the worst culinary experience ever. First, the waiter stood dumbstruck when we asked for coffee. He blankly said.." I do not know how to make coffee." We actually thought he was kidding, but his slackjawed repetition of the same phrase indicated that he indeed did now know how to make the mysterious beverage know as coffee. Cheese blintzes ordered...NO CHEESE, the menu says that is comes with strawberries.... No strawberries in sight. When the OWNER was asked, he said No fresh strawberries,,, that was it. He then asked if we wanted syrup on it..... We asked for a banana instead, he yelled, Do you want me to cut it for you?
Gets way way better. The fallafel plate arrived with a few of the menu advertised ingredients missing. I will admit it was tasty even though the portions were so small it was a joke, for the bargain price of $10!!!!! We had to ask twice for water with lukewarm water showed up eventually.... Ice is apparently an endangered species in this restaurant. When I went to pay for said ridiculous lunch, I was asked by the owner what did I had. I listed the items along with the missing cheese and bits and pieces missing from my allaged falaffel platter. His response???? $28.50, exactly what the menued price was.. No apology, no nothing... No tip. Beware people, this guy clearly does not care at all about repeat business. Perhaps another line of business should be considered by the owner for...
Read moreYesterday was our first time visiting Philly. I actually had no idea that there is a Jewish community and kosher food. After doing some research, we stumbled across this place, and boy am I happy we did. It might not look like a high class michelin star restaurant when you walk in, but the food and service really speaks for itself. Every single thing we ordered was DELICIOUS. Everything was so fresh and was made on the spot, not premade. This place really emphasized the quote, "don't judge a book by its cover." I've been to hundreds of fancy restaurants in New york, miami, and other vacation spots, and a lot of them are just hype but nothing special. This place was the complete opposite. Yoram took care of us so well and accommodated to all our dietary requests. He was so friendly and really went out of his way to make us have a good experience. Just as a side note, I'm still dreaming about those cheese blintzes. I'm actually gluten free, but tried it anyways and it's still on my mind. It was soooo yum. Yoram, if you can please ship us some more of those blintzes, it would be so appreciated! Just kidding. The next time we go to Philly, we know exactly where to go. I don't think there's a single menu item that isn't delicious, no exaggeration. We most definitely will be back in the near future! Thank you Yoram from Yonatan...
