Atiya Ola's Spirit First Foods — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Image entering a food cafe serving specialty foods/entrees where the cozy ambience was totally deceptive. Aitya Ola's in my opinion has without question an impressive vegetarian menu that is equally prepared well and taste good however, the quality of service there undermines the efforts of the owners theme and culture. I have never had any complaints about this place or its owners before their food cafe relocated from Baltimore Ave to its current location near 48 & Spruce Street in Philly.

My last 2 experiences leaves me disgruntled to say the least.

A week ago a friend and myself ordeded entrees and soup. My order was take out and we waited a least 1/2 hour before we were acknowledged and presented with menus by a young lady apparently multitasking simultaneously between cashier, hostess and food server roles. My friend received his order piece-meal, (soup and entree respectively) about another 45 minutes after we ordered and I waited another half hour after he ate to be presented with my take out order. During all this time there was at no time no more than 4 other customers in the restaurant. Periodically maybe 2 or 3 customers appeared to pick up their orders. But all things considered the hostess/cashier/food server paid little or no attention to us and it took nearly an hour and half to 2 hours to be served.

My second experience occurred a week later and only because I was really impressed with the quality of the food. So I called the cafe and I ordered double entrees and soup for pickup. I was informed to give approximately 10 minutes. I arrived half hour later and food was not ready which although not impressed I wasn't surprised. I was surprised however to see that the order was incomplete missing half the food that I paid cash for.

I ordered a 4 item raw platter on September 6th and today, September 27th, I ordered the same platter. Both times the platter was $14 tax included. The first time ordering my food was in a full tray platter. The second time, my food was in a small dessert size tray which was less than half the size. I showed the employee a picture of my food from the first time I ordered. She then showed the cook. She came back and the only thing she offered was an apology, and no reason why I was charged the same price for two different size trays of the same food. I'm highly upset especially being as though I love the food and atmosphere, plus I've been buying food since they were at their place on Baltimore avenue. But this time I...

I used to come here a lot and the quality of the service was never good, but it was tolerable because the food was good. I ordered food from here yesterday and placed the order at 2:14 p.m. The food wasn't done until 3:36 p.m. Yes, 1 hour and 22 minutes later. When the food finally came out, it was missing 1 of the 4 meals that I ordered. They then looked at me as if it was my fault that the person on the phone placed the order incorrectly. At the same time, there were 2 other people waiting who's orders were also wrong. I just told them to forget the missing meal. The food that I actually received was also of very poor quality and had the wrong sides. Not sure what's going on over there but I will not be back...
