I've been looking for an all-purpose eatery for a while, and I think I've found it in Cafe Square One. Salads, sandwiches, and even sushi are available, plus a few snacks and pastries. La Colombe coffee and smoothies are served, too.
All of the food I've had is good here--the sushi is very fresh and the sandwiches are all made to order. Definitely try the SQ Melt--it's a loaded three-cheese grilled cheese with tomato, avocado, and bacon. Plus it's only $6.75, which is a low price for an Old City sandwich.
Free Wifi is an added bonus, and there is a surprisingly large amount of seating for such a small place. However, the bathroom is out of order indefinitely, so you won't be able to sit here and drink coffee all day.
My biggest complaint is that the menu in store is a little confusing--the sandwiches are listed with their base price, which is good, but some of the extra ingredients (like a fried egg on the Baconator) is misleadingly listed as being part of the sandwich, when one actually has to ask to add it on, for an extra price. Read moreI can only speak on the 2 Dash orders I’ve had as I’ve yet to stop in to eat but good looking menu which had me ordering 2 days in a row lol.
The first order was with the Eggspanola and would have been nice if driver got the sauces I requested which would have helped make this better and not which had gotten the Eggiesaurus instead with pork sausage.
The Spicy Chicken Salad Panini had light heat but wish I had more sauce for this also, chicken I thought would be cold but came lukewarm with travel was good , the honey suckle latte and crème Caramel Brulee Latte both are good but pricey at $7.50 today was $9 for added expresso shot lol.
The clam chowder was decent and I think of what I've had so far the chicken Caesar wrap was the best thing so far and the tortilla chips that came with the wrap were good. Eventually I may stop in but for sure am likely to order again with bunch of other things I’d...
Read moreI really love this very unique little cafe a gem in Old City. Friendly and fast service and a very extensive menu from breakfast sandwiches, wraps, paninis, a variety of salads, and melts. Also there's smoothies are super amazing my favorite is the tropical passion smoothie which has strawberry pineapple Orange and I think banana. Nothing but fruit and wholesome goodness. The store is very clean and spacious and has a nice vibe. It feels like home when you walk into the store and you're greeted by the open brick face walls very old city style type of store. Today I bought two sandwiches one was called the swedish fish which lots avocado bacon fried egg capers and more is on a toasted bagel I also tried out there Italian melt on toasted ciabatta bread. This really made my day even though it's snowing in Philadelphia at least I'll know I'll have a full stomach in the energy I need before I have...
