Tonight I came in for a late casual dinner. The waiter asked if I was allergic to anything and I advised that I was to beets. He mentioned that he would note it on the order. When the order arrived the kitchen had added beets. I took a bite before realizing it, and then I saw that there were beets in the dish. We asked to speak with the manager, she apologized and advised us that there was a cook in the kitchen that didn’t speak English and that was the reason for the error. For me this isn’t an issue of having someone in the kitchen that speaks another language, this is an issue of protocol. The chef and a manger on duty being aware of an allergy on a table, the chef or food runner seeing the dish and making sure it looks correct and that nothing looks out of place. Sadly we won’t be back, I hope steps are put in place so this doesn’t occur to anyone else. We did ask to leave as I began to have a reaction.

Friendly staff, good drinks, reasonable management. I ordered the Tandoori Chicken Kabobs. Decent chicken but UNDRESSED quinoa was presented as their version of TABBOULEH salad. For reference, Tabbouleh is a salad made mostly of finely chopped parsley, with tomatoes, mint, onion, bulgur (soaked, not cooked), and seasoned with olive oil, lemon juice, salt and sweet pepper. I would have relented if the quinoa was dressed in any way as a salad. No oil, no acid or vinegar - literally completely undressed cold quinoa. Frankly, anyone who has watched any Gordon Ramsay or any cooking show should know better than to present anything undressed. Not impressed at all. On - positive note, the Manager was kind, understood my disappointment, and attempted to make amends with a free drink. So their customer service is definitely on point.

Nice looking spacious beer bar, also strongly sports focused. Easter Monday at 6.30pm and the place was basically empty. Remained empty til closing time at 9pm but that didn’t bother us as we were having a long overdue reunion, so were anyway only focused on our own company. Good beer selection on tap, tried 4 different brews and also tasted fresh 👌🏽. Took short rib nachos, fig & goat cheese chicken samdwich and the med chicken salad. All passed the taste test and looked the part, 10/10. The bartender Mike also took care of our bar table, and despite being new there (I believe), was very friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and provided quick service. Kudos Mike 👍🏽👍🏽. Solid TV setup, would be interested to see how it is on a big night with sound on and packed out 💪🏼

My spouse and I visited City Tap Logan Square yesterday, August 30th, and unfortunately, our experience was once again unpleasant. This was actually our third visit, and every single time we’ve been here, we’ve run into the same type of unwelcoming energy.

We chose to sit outside to enjoy the nice weather. Before we could even be greeted or place an order, our server who was training another employee, came out and immediately asked us for a card to put on file to authorize before we could order. While a bit unusual to be asked before even being greeted, we understood and didn’t mind since some places do require this when dining outside.

However, just a few minutes later, a party of four sat at the table next to us. They were approached by their server (also in training), but they were not asked for a card or any authorization at all. My spouse and I found this odd, considering the policy was enforced on us but not on them. It gave us the impression that we were somehow seen as a bigger “risk” of running out on an $80 bill than they were.

When I asked our server about this, her only response was, “I’ll go get my manager.” No explanation, no apology. Interestingly, before the manager came out, the server for the other party suddenly circled back and then asked them for their card but it was very clear that only happened because we had said something.

When the manager did come out, she was apologetic and explained that this is protocol and that the other server would be penalized. But that completely missed the point. The issue isn’t about punishment it’s about consistency and fairness. If this “protocol” exists, it should apply to everyone, not just selectively enforced on certain guests who appear to be a “risk.” That comes across as passive-aggressive and frankly unwelcoming. While I don’t believe this was a race issue, the optics of the situation make it look unfair and discriminatory. This is exactly the kind of inconsistency that can get a business in trouble.

On the food side: the flatbread margarita pizza and spinach dip with tortilla chips were excellent. The Buffalo wings, however, tasted like they had been brined and seasoned only with salt completely bland and honestly unpleasant.

This was our third visit, and each time we’ve had some type of issue. This one stood out the most. At this point, it feels like City Tap Logan Square is not for us. The atmosphere comes across as unwelcoming to certain groups of people, and the crowd feels very one-note. It’s disappointing because we always try to give places multiple chances, but after three strikes, we won’t be returning.

I’m writing this review for those who actually research businesses before spending their hard-earned money like I do, so you know what to expect. Again, some people’s experience...

Took my staff (8) there on Saturday after we were finished working in the area. From the time we walked in (there were only 2 other people in the place at 12:40) we received attitude. Emily M was our server was rude from the start. I asked if they had flavored Tequila, she said she didn't think so. I was looking for Cucumber Jalapeno Tequila. She said they had Jalapeno behind the bar but no cucumbers. I said ...Do you not have Salad on your menu that has cucumbers on it , she said the kitchen was a different department and she couldn't get cucumber from there to use at the bar. Seriously!. She basically made fun of me when I said they could muddle the cucumber and jalapeno into the tequila. It was a no go, it wasn't going to happen. I ordered Ice Tea, she came back and said they didn't have Ice Tea..I said do you have hot tea? Yes...I said bring me hot tea along with a glass of ice and I'll show you how to make Ice tea. One of my staff ordered a beer, when it arrived, there was a gnat floating in it. How did the bartender and her not see it floating on the top? When she brought the check to me, she informed me since it was a party of 8 , there was an automatic tip added which I found insulting since her service was well below par. Emily never once came over while we ate to check on us. Needless to say, WE WILL NEVER PATRONIZE THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN. )this was not my first time there, but it was the last time there. Even my staff said, 'Never again do they want to...

This was my first time at City Tap Logan. The place is decorated well and there's lots of TV's. It definitely feels like a cool American sports bar. I went with my fiance and a few friends after dinner elsewhere to hang out and have a few drinks and snacks. This place gets very very crowded on the weekends, there wasn't any space to be at the bar and not many tables either but we were able to talk to the hostess to get a table. They have a great beer selection and quite a few good cocktails too. It's a little overpriced, it's Philly so prices are higher but it's a relatively average sports bar with higher prices. Other than drinks, we ordered the pulled pork nachos and the Bavarian pretzel for apps, they were really good and large portions. Our server was really nice and despite how busy it was, she came back frequently. The noise level gets loud here when it's crowded and the music is pretty loud too so more like a club setting on the weekend. I think it seems like a great spot to hang out but difficult to have a conversation without having to raise your voice. I definitely would go back to check out City Tap again during non peak time and try more of their...
