When we arrived at the entrance of the building we were already treated with such respect from the doorman and the rest of the staff. The elevator was so quick that my ears popped as we ascended and descended. The decor was beautiful, they had these giant orange flowers where my mother and i took many photos. As we were guided to our seats, a waiter pushed me into my seat, and we were handed the menus, which were full of so many interesting things that i took me so long to decide. for drinks, i settled with an elderberry hibiscus herbal blend (tea with lemonade) while my mother had a cucumber collins? cocktail. mine was very light and refreshing, and not overly sweet. For our main course, i had the brioche french toast with stone fruit and my mom had two eggs any style (scrambled) the french toast was absolutely decadent. the toast was sooo fluffy and the fruits were very flavorful. Mom’s two eggs dish was amazing as well, i tried some and i even liked the tomatoes (which i usually avoid). For dessert, i had the sour cherry pie with pistachio ice cream and mom had molten chocolate cake (they allowed her to swap the vanilla ice cream for a non-dairy strawberry) I also had rishi tea (citrus chamomile) which was so smooth and delicious that it didn’t even need sugar. my mother, who wasn’t in the mood for tea, enjoyed it plentiful. She absolutely loved her dish, and i fairly enjoyed mine too, but i had a problem. The taste of the dish itself was amazing, but the some of the whole cherries inside the pie still had pits. I didn’t realize this was the case until i bit into one and had to spend 10 minutes fishing the fragments out of my mouth ungracefully. It would be acceptable if the cherries were garnish on the outside, but to leave unpitted cherries in the pie for someone less fortunate to potentially choke on? This is the only reason i rated the food a 4. I could go on and on about how polite, accommodating, and respectful the staff was, and i would seriously rate service 6 stars if i could. The two waiters were so funny and good at light conversation. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, and all the windows allowed lots of natural light in. all the flowers added splashes of color (go to the orange flower wall near the elevator for amazing photos) overall, it was an amazing experience, and according to my mother, that was just the tip of the iceberg, as we haven’t had...
Read moreI wanted to share some feedback regarding my recent dining experience in the Four Seasons Philadelphia Hotel on 12/30/24.
The holidays can be a challenging time, but I was looking forward to a peaceful and enjoyable dinner with my mother at your esteemed establishment. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations, primarily due to the treatment we received from our server, Evgenia G.
Throughout the evening, we felt unwelcome and uncomfortable due to microaggressions and a consistently condescending tone. This left us feeling undervalued and ultimately led us to leave early and make alternative reservations at another restaurant.
This experience was particularly surprising, as I have dined at Jean-Georges Philadelphia at the Four Seasons before and have never encountered anything like this. I have previously enjoyed drinks at the bar with Caroline and Maxwell, as well as exceptional service during dinner from Steven. These experiences left me with a high regard for your staff and service, making this incident even more disheartening.
However, I do want to share that our evening improved greatly at Vernick Fish, where Erica and Paul provided outstanding service. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made us feel welcome and valued, turning an otherwise disappointing evening into a memorable one.
The Four Seasons is renowned for its excellence, hospitality, and prestige. I have always associated your brand with inclusivity and a commitment to exceptional service, which makes this encounter deeply disappointing.
I felt it was important to bring this to your attention in hopes that it can be addressed and prevented in the future. While I truly value the Four Seasons as a destination, this incident has left me questioning whether my presence and patronage are appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my feedback. I hope steps will be taken to ensure that all guests feel welcome and respected in...
Read moreVEGETARIANS BEWARE. If I could give this place a zero star I would. I want to preface my complaint by saying this wasn't my first time having a plant based meal at this level. I've been to eleven Madison and it was exquisite. So I came into Jean-Georges which has an almost similar price point with some expectations of a decent meal and service. This meal was such a disaster that this restaurant should be on one of those Gordon Ramsay shows where he yells at the chefs and teaches them how to cook.
Nothing on that six course tasting menu was worth the price or status aside from maybe the soup.
2 dishes that stood out for being so bad: The skewer dish with the tofu, pear, and brussel sprouts was absolutely inedible. It was extremely salty to the point where 2 of us sent it back uneaten. It was the most painful thing I've ever had to eat.
The buckwheat crepe tasted like dirt and honestly should have been sent back to the earth (as it was on the from the earth menu).
Now for the staff. Our host was formidable but he didn't seem to care about our complaints or that some of the dishes were so bad, we were unable to eat them. Usually at a restaurant of this caliber they would bring a manager or someone else to address our concerns but he did not.
In addition to our server not caring about our concerns, he also caused us a lot of discomfort by hovering uncomfortably close by while waiting for the tip so he could see the amount being pressed on the tiny card reader he handed us. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL
We were celebrating my parents anniversary and all left that place feeling awful. This is the first bad review I've ever written and most places at this level would try to make it right when a customer is literally unable to eat the food.
I hope that management reaches out to me. I'm happy to provide feedback in even more detail. I wrote down feedback for each...
