The very first time I tried the food it was great. I recommended it to several people who also enjoyed it. Since then I've returned on several occasions, with the last two times leaving me torn on whether I should be bother with them ever again. The first of the two occasions dined in for the second time. It was busy but I was quickly seated. My waitress for my table never showed up. Eventually after about 20 to 25 minutes later The waitress for another asked had I been helped and I said no. So she took my order. So having waited so long already Iwas already frustrated. My food came and it was good but the service was absolutely horrendous. As I was finishing up the actual waitress for my table shows up and asked if there was anything I needed and I said no because I was done. Where was she all that time? SMH. The second time I decided to do takeout so I invited a friend. I ordered our food at the kiosk and we were given a number. We waited and waited other people came way after we did and ordered so I assumed they would get their food after me. That wasn't the case, several people that came after were served their food before me and when I asked was food ready they said not yet. I didn't understand that at all. The when I saw what appeard to be the two sandwiches we had ordered come to the counter the woman behind the seeing that I was visibly frustrated decide to piss me off by having a conversation on the side while bagging my order as slow as possible. Actually taking the time to stop bagging the order and talking while putting items in one at time then stopping to talk. So she put a sandwich in, stop and talk, put the other sandwich in stop and talk, one fork stop and talk. Well you get the picture I was pissed. So yeah they're customer service blows. After writing this review and thinking about it. I'll never go back there again. Good food at a restaurant is important but so is treating people with respect. Just an aside I talked to someone who was just there recently and they said the food tucked. SoI think one thing begets the other bad service eventually equals bad...
Read moreExtremely unprofessional and disappointing customer service
I recently attempted to pick up an order from Taste Cheesesteak Bar through DoorDash and was met with confusion due to the complete lack of signage or clear instructions. It turns out they operate as a ghost kitchen, which was never disclosed upfront. When I reached out for clarification, instead of being met with help or understanding, I received a condescending and defensive email blaming me for their lack of transparency.
Rather than take accountability for the confusing experience, the business doubled down with a rude tone, dismissive responses, and irrelevant comparisons (like comparing their location to someone’s home). Their lack of professionalism and customer care was shocking.
If you're looking for a place that values and respects its customers, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. I’ve already contacted DoorDash regarding the experience and will not be ordering from this establishment ever again.
Update: In response to your reply: the lack of professionalism and customer care in your communication is once again on full display.
Instead of acknowledging the very real confusion caused by unclear pickup instructions at your ghost kitchen location, you chose to respond with sarcasm and deflection. Accusing my friends—who were physically with me and experienced the same frustration—of being “fake accounts” is not only untrue, but insulting.
Your dismissive and condescending tone, both in private emails and public replies, speaks volumes about how you treat customers who express valid concerns. No one is asking for perfection—just clarity, respect, and basic accountability.
Taste, please continue speaking to customers in this way. People are watching, and your responses say more about your business than any...
Read more“As you can see I have no food”! Went on a Saturday evening around 5:40. The plan was to celebrate me and my sisters birthday by supporting a Black owned business. Also I wanted to try something new the $35 oxtails cheesesteak. We had a party of 4. The restaurant is small has a bar and then table tops for 2 people. So there was a wait to seat our party. Although, half of the restaurant is a bar and it was happy hour we weren’t able to order drinks while we waited. Ok. The reason given is they didn’t have a way to bill a drink to a table. (Never have I ever heard such a thing) The servers also said they weren’t able to give us happy hour pricing when and if we did get a seat. So we proceed to stand and wait for about 30 minutes. The restaurant seated tables of 2 that came in after us. The ladies that worked there told us that someone called out, they were short staffed and people sat themselves. So, our wait was longer. There was an empty table for 2 I asked if we could order while we waited for another table next to the empty table. My sister was also leaning on a wall because standing so long was starting to get to her. This way we could get the ball rolling on our food being prepared and get some drinks. They said ok, but while we were ordering from one lady another came and said she was about to seat someone at the table for 2 and we had to go back to wait. I don’t beg people to take my money. Especially with $35 cheesesteaks and $22 drinks plus taxes and tip. The place was not a vibe. I admittedly just got pissed left and took my couple hundred dollars down the street to Chimas. We were able to get $6 happy hour drinks there and sit and wait for our table comfortably. I will try again for take out. But for a fun evening out I wouldn’t suggest this place for more...
