I have been looking for a one night cocktail class for a while and found Cocktail Culture on Google. Many of the cocktail classes are for getting a bartending license or an actual school. I decided to go with this company because they had great reviews and it seemed like so much fun. I bought two seats for the herbs and spices class to surprise my boyfriend as a birthday gift. We both like to try some new and adventurous cocktails, so this seemed like the perfect class....AND BOY IT WAS! Jung is the founder and owner and she taught the class with Bri, an intern. The energy was so inviting, classy, and educational. There was another group of four women also celebrating a birthday, and there wasn't any awkwardness. Jung makes all the syrups herself and she supports numerous local businesses, which is awesome. There was a drink for every kind of palette, and there was a large variety of drinks for each round. I am now a fan of gin based drinks... I never really liked gin, but the flavor combinations were spot on. This class isn't expensive either, you learn a lot and Jung puts in a lot of love and effort into every aspect of the class. And since she supports local business and makes everything herself, the price is a steal! It's pretty much like one of those "paint and sip" classes.... BUT MUCH BETTER BECAUSE OF THE BOOZE!! I highly suggest this class for those of all levels of drinking. I'm not a lightweight when it comes to alcohol, but the drinks aren't too strong either. If you're planning any type of small event or are visiting Philly for the weekend, definitely try this class out for a girls' night or bachelorette party. I can't wait to see how this company will blow up and become the next big thing! There are different types of classes too.... I wanna try them all! The prohibition class looks...
Read moreMy husband and I were gifted this experience for Christmas and we absolutely LOVED it! The class is two hours and they provide everything you need to make three cocktails.
The bar tenders working the class were so friendly, professional, and helpful. The drinks themselves were absolutely delicious.
My favorite part was that you could really customize each cocktail. For example, the first drink we made was a margarita, but you could decide which fruit you wanted to add (fresh strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, pineapple, orange, lime, blueberry were all available to mix and match) and which tequila to use (silver, gold, or mezcal). Every cocktail you made you had the option to make your own and it really opened our eyes to the sort of things we could do with these recipes at our home bar.
This was a perfect date night. I would definitely do another class with them and plan on gifting this to more...
Read moreOur son bought us a gift for the Prohibition Era Cocktail class. We parked across the street from the venue (which is above Nick's Roast Beef on 2nd st). When we arrived we were greeted by Billy Burns. After the other 3 couples arrived Billy reviewed what we were going to do in the class. Three rounds of drinks, and all of the different ingredients that make up the cocktails we would be making. We then went through the three rounds of cocktail making having the choice of 3 different cocktails per round based on your go to choice of liquor. We learned something new, had a blast, and made new friends. Billy is by far one of the best bar tenders we've ever met. We will be back with friends to try one of the other classes offered. I highly recommend the Cocktail Culture Experience for a great night out. Billy, Thanks for making our night out...
