Quite possibly a perfect calzone stop.
To begin: the ordering experience was simple and intuitive both online and in store, the calzone names are cute and there's ample explanation of what goes in each 'zone'. The staff are kind and courteous and care that the food they make is good. (Which is especially helpful if you order a 'construction zone', their build your own calzone)
The food is made by hand in front of you, fast. Everything is made-to-order which makes it perfect for picky eaters and anyone who enjoys freshly baked bread.
The calzones themselves are amazing. A firm crust that neatly holds all of the filling without breaking or flopping, while retaining a deliciously light texture. Not so crunchy that it feels cracker-like but not so fluffy that it gets soggy under toppings or so thick that it dominates the filling. Absolutely perfect. The calzones themselves are a nice size, two small meals or one very hungry one, perfect for college students trying to get the most bang for their buck. The dipping sauces are also large enough portions that you'll certainly have enough for the whole calzone, none of this 'barely 2 oz of sauce so your food is dry by the second half' nonsense that's all too common. The calzone itself is nicely sized so that it can fit in your hands and the fillings are appropriately proportioned so that the calzone is not overloaded and falling apart but is far from sparsely topped like chain pizza joints often fall victim to. (I managed to eat the first half of mine in a laundromat without fear of spilling, or greasy fingers.)
Overall fantastic. D.B. Dough's fed not only my hunger but also my spirits, with kind staff...
Read moreOrdered food from them an hour before they closed via DoorDash and was waiting on the order. Hadn't heard anything in almost an hour so I called. An Alexander Nunez picked up and said that they were waiting for a driver. Waited a little longer and got a call back saying that if a driver didn't show up, he would personally deliver the food. Asked what time to expect him, he said the store closes at 4 so probably about 4:05. It's now 5am and still no food. Called back, phone rang and went to voicemail.
Every time we order from this place, there's always an issue and this is the second time we've ordered and got no food only to fight with DoorDash for a refund instead of getting a solid answer from the store saying they didn't want to either make the food or deliver it. I get that the weather is bad, but don't tell me you're going to deliver the food and then go back on your word. Better off just saying that the weather was too bad and it could've be delivered and offer a refund or something more reasonable instead of a broken promise.
I will never buy food from them again. This is highly unprofessional to just take someone's money for food and then not deliver without any explanation. Lost a customer.
DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE UNLESS YOU WANT HEADACHE AND...
Read moreI had to make a new email account to write a review for this establishment, because I was too embarrassed to associate myself with this review. The staff here are very rude and they don't seem to care about the level of "service" that they provide. Why are they even open if they don't want to serve the public? I have yet to taste the food, so I may have to write a separate review on that, but I wanted to express my disappointment and disgust about the establishment, their "timely" deliveries, and the attitude of their staff.
1:41AM Update: It was worse than I thought. The delivery driver did not wear a mask, the boxes were soggy and cold, as well as the food. You can see that the cheese is still in shredded form (not even being melted from the start) and the 15 tator tots, (which I had paid extra for a "large") were still half frozen. The quality was highly, but not surprisingly, disappointing. The quality of food is a reflection of the...
