I would like to say thank you opening up a food place in Northeast Philly! We need more places like these!
Just wanted to give my critique on the food. I will rate everything I ate 1-5, 5 being the highest rating.
Beans 1 out of 5 -
the beans need more flavor, need to add cilantro, onions, red peppers, green peppers, sweet peppers, and garlic and it will take the flavor to another level.
Chicken Empanadas 4 out of 5
The empanadas were really good! The green sauce is amazing! The chicken needs a little more seasoning and they will be a 5 out of 5
Mac & cheese 1 out of 5
The Mac & cheese is too bland. You need to change the cheese sauce. I would recommend mixing cheddar cheese, heavy cream, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper and use that for your sauce it would take the Mac amd cheese to another level.
Drunken Hen Sandwich 3.5 out of 5
It was overall solid sandwich. The chicken needs a little more flavor with the batter. The sandwich could use some pickled onions or something extra on top on the vodka sauce. This would enhance the sandwich.
Cheesecake 5 out of 5
Love the texture!!! Keep making it this way. Maybe In the future you could add Oreos, pineapple, cherries.
I’m just making recommendations to the foods to help your business grow.

Read moreI ordered delivery so I can't comment on the atmosphere but the delivery service was quick and everything came packaged well and still hot. This was my first time trying Drunken Hen and I'm super pleased! I'll definitely be in touch check out the spot in person soon. I'm amazed at how much food we got for the price. I ordered the whole rotisserie chicken with sides to feed 4 and got the rice and mac and cheese as sides. The mac and cheese was flavorful, not dry at all and the perfect comfort food for this rainy day. The rice was fluffy and came with enough servings to feed a small army. The chicken is really juicy and savory with some yummy sweetness to it, I just wish the skin was a little crunchier but that's my personal preference. Still good nonetheless and I'll definitely be eating Drunken Hen again! Excited to try the rest of...
Read moreHey Philly, don’t sleep on the Drunken Hen. Located in the old Grey Lodge this place is a hidden gem! Probably the best burger in the area and definitely the best on the block! Small and run by the owners this place not only packs the flavor but packs the personality. People who care about their patrons and want nothing more but serve satisfying food.
As the name implies they have chicken and booze too but pernil, burgers, sandwiches and specials too.
Shop small, shop local and definitely...
