This is a great "family run" coffee and specialty drink cafe with a soothing atmosphere for lounging in along with limited food choices!
REALLY this place specializes in Hot / Iced Tea's, Coffee's and Specialty Espresso drinks.
Their home-made food is available in small batches and served by first come first serve basis. At the same time, it's mediocre at best; but could be improved if they provided the extra toppings and condiments on the side as an option for their unseasoned burgers patties.
The chicken wings / drumsticks do get more attention, with a coating of sauces and spices; not sure why that is... and the burgers are left plain. If you looking for SAVORY food, this ain't the place for it... unless you really don't care and just want food with little to no flavor in your belly.
I like this shop and the people who run it, but their work hours are WEIRD!! They're never open in the morning when people are out commuting, hunting for breakfast or a sharp caffeinated pick-me-up drink; and they're closed before most people in the area return from their day jobs.
Honestly, I don't know how this family is making a profit from this business. If that wasn't bad enough, they're usually under staffed and NEED help. I've even offered to work at the shop because I like it so much and I live SUPER close by, but that dream DIED as soon as I brought it up.
I really like this Cafe, especially in the evenings but their never open at reasonable hours, probably because the owners also have day jobs too and their kids are hitting the books during the academic seasons.
Hopefully I catch them with their doors open again soon, now that the weather is breaking from Winters chilling grasp. Looking forward to chilling in that soothing...
Read morePhiladelphia, a city where any one who lives out side the 191’s will will swear how terrible it is and its inhabitants are rude. True Philadelphians will tell u that the love we have one another is deep! As a culinary grad and former employee of restaurants in Philly, Dallas, and Maui, I can tell u that what these guys are serving out of their smokers on Friday and Saturday are done right! I’m not gonna rant and rave about the food, u need to come try for your self, I can promise u won’t leave disappointed. What I do wanna talk about is hospitality and brotherly love! Philadelphia has long been on the culinary and food scene map we may not have 38,000 restaurants like New York. You may not be able to get every single cuisine from 180 countries in Philadelphia but what you do get in the city is service and it stands out. When it’s more about passion for serving great dishes to the neighborhood, then it is about anything else. The people here are here for the neighborhood and they are slinging dishes that will make you glad to be part of Kensington. No eatery in Philly will make you feel part of the family and bring u in like these guys do. From the moment I pulled up till I left I felt like I knew every one there for decades. And I can’t thank them enough for taking care of me the way they did! Come support local business and this cafe, come be part of the family, come feel like ur grilling and smoking at your own family gathering. Cause I promise that’s what u will leave thinking. Also they have pretty good street corn too! Ha! ...

The service was quick and personable. I ordered a cappuccino first and Ieishia made it with love and the best part- asked if I want cinnamon on top💕 Take notes, Starbucks. The cappuccino was so good so I wanted to try their drip coffee too and I found my new coffee spot after that drip coffee. I love a coffee shop where you're not afraid to ask to have your coffee how you want it and they returned every request with a SMILE. And the best for last THE BF SANDWICH with turkey bacon. wowooww. the bagel was so soft, the eggs and cheese in perfect conjunction and a fresh piece of tomato and arugula on the side as a perfect garnish. TONS of vegan options including a meatball sub which I'll be trying next time. And all of this without even mentioning how BEAUTIFUL the actual cafe is. It's open air so no doors. You just walk in and there's a huge connect 5 that kept my 4 year old busy so I can enjoy my coffee. my new fav coffee...
